Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at this Flint Hill Goods Spare Tire Carrier for your trailers. This spare tire carrier is gonna mount to your trailer frame and it can accommodate trailer frames up to three inches wide and up to five inches tall. You can see here we've got a ton of room as far as width goes, and even with the mounting holes in the bottom to choose from, we're not at the maxed out position, so we've got room to spare with this frame. The plate that holds the tire is angled upward a little bit to help give us a little bit more ground clearance, because if it did stick straight out, we would be sacrificing some clearance with this lower mounting point on our trailer. This is designed to work with spare tires that have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern or a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern.
Others like 5 on 5 or 5 on 4 3/4 are not gonna work for this. One thing I will say is that depending on your trailer, you might not have a good spot on your frame to mount it up. Like here, we really don't have the room or the space on our frame to mount up a carrier, so for us, the best solution is the etrailer spares tire carrier, which mounts up to the angle iron on your trailer if you've got that, and gives you a mounting point up here. Everything on here is a steel construction with a black powder coat finish, which is gonna help resist rust and corrosion over time, but that black powder coat will probably start to fade and go away at some point, it's not weatherproof, just weather resistant. The hardware is a zinc-plated hardware, so that's gonna help it resist rust and corrosion too.
It has a 100 pound weight capacity, so it's more than capable of carrying even your larger tires. And with the installation, it's very straightforward and simple, it just mounts around the trailer frame, no modifications needed, so let's walk through that process now. Starting off the installation, you wanna pick a place to get the carrier mounted up. Right around the front of our trailer here is looking pretty good for us. I'm actually gonna do a little bit of pre-assembly before we get it fully installed.
We wanna take the backing plates and the carrier itself, and you can notice that there's some holes that are offset, these two are kind of offset from these four. The two offset ones will go at the top and match up with the carrier itself. What I'm gonna do is feed the longer bolts through the top hole from those backing plates out to the front of the carrier, drop a washer, a lock washer, and a nut in place. I'm just doing this by hand just to help us hold everything upright, and we'll do that on the other side right over here as well. Once both of those are loosely installed, you can just drop it over top of where you want them get mounted up.
Obviously, these need to get tightened down a fair bit, might actually just do that a little bit by hand, so it holds itself a little more firmly in place, but we don't need to run this down yet, and we can get our bottom hardware secured. So with it up on the trailer frame, we can see that this bottom hole and the one right above it both line up, we're gonna go for the one that gives us the most snug fit for us, it's that second to last hole, and then follow it up with the exact same hardware we we're using before. Once everything's hand tight and you've got this in the position that will work for your tire and your trailer, you can tighten everything down, trying to go back and forth and keep things relatively even on both sides. (hand drill buzzing) To mount up the tire, you wanna make sure you know what kind of tire you have. For a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, you'll be using these two holes right here with our carriage bolts, if you've got a 5 on 4 1/2, then you'll be going to these holes here. Just keep in mind that if you have anything other than that, it may not work with this carrier. The tire's going to just slide over those carriage bolts. You may wanna watch on the other side to make sure that they aren't getting totally pushed back through, and it could always help to have a second set of hands just to keep them from pushing back through. But once you've got them secured or at least set on, then you can secure them. To get it secured, your kit comes with a flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut that we can thread in place. (hand drill buzzing) And once everything's tightened down, you're ready to hit the road, you've got a way to carry your spare tire on your trailer. And that'll do it for our look at the spare tire carrier for your trailers from Flint Hill Goods. Thanks for watching.

Carry your spare up and out of the way with this corrosion-resistant powder coated steel spare tire carrier. Raised, angled mount provides additional clearance for your spare. Clamp-on bracket fits trailer frames up to 3" wide x 5" tall.Well built, rugged bracket design & easy install. Readily adaptable for my specific boat trailer mounting needs and works as described in product description. Note spare tire shown in pics also purchased from etrailer
fits the trailer and the spare tire perfectly. No idea how this will hold up over time yet, as they were just mounted. One odd thing is that the manufacturer included a washer and a lock washer to put under the LUG NUT holding the spare to the carrier. Since the lug nuts are designed to hold tires, I didn't bother to put them on.
Perfect for the 14” spare tire on my utility trailer. Mounted on the side rail in 5 minutes.
So glad that I finally decided to mount my spare tire on my boat trailer. This carrier worked great for my 5-lug wheel. Just make sure that you look at the illustrationed drawings as to how to situate all of the nuts/bolts, it will save you a lot of headache and time in installation. Also, plan on having two people to actually mount the wheel, that, too, will be fairly easy. Very happy with my purchase.
Stout materials, large bolts. A sturdy product that I think will last a long time. Speedt delivery too.

Well made and well finished, by that I mean its still shiny, no fading in the paint, no appearance that the weather has affected it. Bolt in on and forget about it. Ill probably never need another one.
Just what I needed to keep my spare tire secured and out of the way! More importantly is the service received from etrailer customer service! I received my order damaged by the shipper, box destroyed and missing the hardware needed to install mount! One email to etrailer and I received multiple responses from customer service, ready and willing to help! My item was replaced and shipped immediately! These guys are great!

This spare tire carrier is high quality and was exactly what I needed. I mounted it directly to the tailgate of my dump trailer and it works great. Whenever I need something I go to etrailer first they have great, high quality products at great prices.
I needed a spare tire mount that would work for my very specific needs. I repurposed a hitch mount truck bed ATV carrier and am using it at my spare tire carrier on my SxS. It works great and this spare tire mount is a perfect fit. It feels rock solid and doesn't move or rattle at all. This was one of the very few if not the only one that looked like it would fit my needs and with the videos etrailer always provides gave me the confidence it would fit as it did. I purchase from etrailer all the time and this is just another example why I do.
I needed a spare tire for my trailer and I also needed a way to mount it so I bought this. The bolts that came with the bracket were way to long so I went and got some shorter grade 5 bolts and ta da looks good, works great.
The spare tire holder for my new 12" wheel and tire was the perfect replacement for the homemade bracket I was previously using for the 8" wheel.
I've gone years taking a risk I wouldn't get a flat on my boat trailer and decided enough is enough! Bought this spare tire carrier and installed in about 10 minutes. So easy and now no more worries when I hit the road!
It's a flexible option for most trailer tires and wheels and it was cost effective. There are many options available when it comes to installing it but it's not the MOST secure when mounted and the bolts to attach the wheel need a way to be secured prior to mounting the spare. Overall, I think it will provide value... it'll do what I want at a reasonably low cost.
The fit was perfect.
Very nice well built bracket, however, I installed it in a horizontal position instead of a vertical position as most people. I had to get shorter bolts (7/16-14 x 2-1/2). The bolts that came with the bracket were way to long for my application. Most likely if you were installing it on the tongue that would not be an issue. Fit my 15'' tire just fine (4-4.5" holes.) Thanks etrailer
Very easy to install. This perfectly solves the problem I had of attaching my spare tire and keeping it out of the way. Thanks.

It’s still in excellent shape, not deteriorating or rusting out. I’m very happy, and highly recommend.
Excellent product - exactly as advertised. Works well to store the 12 in bias spare on my trailer. Bought two so i have one on each side (taking trailer from NE to South FL)
Worked like a charm. Was very easy to install and handled the tire well.

All still holding up and doing the job was purchased for. Great products at a fair price. Do take care and continue the great service, Roy.
This spare tire holder installed easily on my trailer, and seems to be working well. No complaints. Seems like a good holder for the price.
It’s doing the job at a reasonable price
Made mountain my spare a breeze. Took 10 minutes. This allowed me to mount it securely to the side since I have a tool box on the front.
Just purchased the spare mount for our new Mitey Toon, mini pontoon boat. The mount actually arrived two days earlier than we had anticipated. Mount was installed easily and is sturdy enough for the 5.70 x 8 spare. All in all we are very pleased with etrailer.
Works as advertised and has a decent amount of adjustment. I raised it to the higher setting to keep the tire away from the ground when going over the top of my driveway. Apologies for the messy garage in the pic, but very happy with the purchase for my 4'x10' Utility/ATV trailer.
Exactly what I wanted for my utility trailer. Easily installed. Ready for next trip.
