What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this Valterra vent register. So it's for heating and cooling. So you can direct the air where you want it to go in your rig. Now, this is also gonna be a 6 7/8 diameter application.
So just make sure that matches what you got in your rig so that you can install it too. Let's check it out. The vents operate really easily. You can just push in on the dampers to get them to move. It's a little stiff when you first get it, but that's okay.
It's better than being loose and not staying in place like it should. And then you can also grab the damper and rotate to get that direction you want as well. So just be careful when you're going to move it. Don't pull out too hard or anything. It slides pretty easily to get it whatever direction you need it to be.
This is gonna be an example of a fixed vent. So you can see, I can't move the dampers either way and it's kind of splitting the air. Now you can rotate it a little bit here in its spot but that's not a lot of adjustability. Another great thing about controlling the air flows, you can shut it off too, so you can close the dampers if you don't wanna waste any air in that spot. I've seen a lot of comments online.
People hooking one of these up into their fifth wheel and they actually close them closer to the AC unit. So say that's at the back of the rig. That way the cold air actually gets up to the front where they need it to go. So you don't waste that cold air right there next to the a AC unit. You can just control that flow to get it to go a little bit further by just closing these vents up. So you got the initial part that you're gonna install first and that has the screws in it that holds it in place. And this is what snaps into it. So what's nice about this is the bevel here on the outside actually covers up the screws. So it looks like a nice clean install when you pop it into place. It's gonna come in two pieces, really easy to install, check out how we did it. Went ahead and removed the old vent and that one had three screws, which we we're lucky that it matches up with the pattern on our bevel here. Now we're gonna add it into place. So we just wanna match that up right there and add our screws. Go ahead and use the existing holes if they line up. If they don't, you can make new ones too, but I'm just gonna use the ones we got and run these screws back in. I'll push our vent portion up right there. Let it snap into place really easy. And now we can open up the dampers. We can even rotate this inside to get the air flowing exactly where you want it to go. Overall, an easy fix. I like it much better than the standard vent before where you couldn't control what direction it's going. Now you have full control on wherever that air goes wherever you need it to be. I like that. It's gonna make things much more comfortable in the rain. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and hope this helped..

These were exactly what I needed to redesign the ducted AC in my RV. Good quality plastic should stand up to use. 360 degree swivel plus the ability to open and close the louvers was what I needed to even out airflow for different weather conditions. Was really surprised etrailer carried things like this. Bought our tow bar and braking system for our toad from them but didn’t know how much more they sold.
Just what I needed. Easy to install and give a little better directional control of air flow in my room.

Perfect fit, we originally had those vents that are just split into opposite directions in the living & bunkroom area, I have no idea why our new trailer came like that , when in the room & kitchen area it had these. Anyways these have helped control the full airflow to go where you want it to go, no more having half the air flow towards the wall! I personally loved that the ones we got didn't have the "e" printed on it as it shows in the picture. It's such an eye sore but I went through with the purchase & I'm glad I did.
plastic pins are too fragile. Easy / inexpensive replacement but likely won't stand up over time if you adjust your vents often.
Changed out the non-directional and non-closable ones in our fifth wheel with these. What a difference these have made. We can not only direct the air now where needed in a room but can close all the vents that are too close to the AC unit. Now we can ensure the cool air makes it way all the way to the ends of our trailer. Only negative is the are bit tight to rotate. If you are not gentle with them you can break part of the closing connector rod when turning. But just be careful when rotating and it should not be an issue. Maybe a little lube might remove that issue all together.
Perfect fit. I had previously bought a different brand on Amazon with the same dimentions which did not work. This vent was perfect.

A direct replacement when the previous hinge broke. I will definitely purchase again as I'm sure another hinge on the original register will eventually fail.

Perfect to close off air in rooms it is not needed. With the second unit in our 5th wheel sitting so close to the main it is more of an enhanced air force in the upstairs. The bathroom does NOT need full force two AC's pushing cold air over the shower. Even the upstairs bedroom was too cold while the rear den was getting a tad warm. We installed three of these, closed them completely and could feel some air force difference to the den area. These do not close off completely as the air pushes through around the closed vent where there is a 2-3mm gap all the way around the vents. Perfect so that the upstairs doesn't overheat.
Triple check the size of your vents. I noticed two different sizes as I was shopping. In addition pull your vent cover down and use natural bright light to determine if it is white or off white. So glad I did. Love Love Love that we bought these.
Fits right works right
I bought these because they were the only 6-7/8" adjustable register I could find to replace the fixed opposite flow factory vents in my rv. I was very disapointed that they are too short to reach the ductwork in the ceiling. My mistake for thinking these might fit in some universal way. Every part has to be unique so only their parts will fit, even if its less than optimal.

Although the vent is described as 5" the actual duct opening is 5.5 " Thus, this item will not fit in my trailer. I believe that this is an inacurate description.

We give the dimensions in the description as the grille diameter being 5 inches but the mounting dimension as being 5 and 3 quarter inches. I apologize for the confusion.
The air conditioner covers are working great.Took a whole 10min. To install 7 grills. Sure makes a difference as to where I want the air to flow. Thank you so much Crystal all your help with the order, you got it all squared away.Every one in the parts area and office were terrific. Will no doubt be doing more ordering in the future.

I ordered these vents for a Salem Cruise Light 2018 and the reasons I was drawn to these particular type are:
1. Research told me it would be an even trade with no drilling screwing or cutting.
2. It is directional rather than blasting air in all directions.
3. It is easy to adjust from no flow to full flow.
4. They are also adjustable in a fashion where the vents can be turned, again with ease, in any direction.
When the product arrived it was as I had hoped. Everything lined up perfectly. I popped with ease and didn’t even have to shut the unit down.
Perfect fit just doesn’t swivel like the original one.
The ceiling vent is well made, the measurements are concise. The plate that goes up into the whole is deep enough to get up into the vent so you do not lose air flow. It attached easy. Then putting the cover plate on to it was precise. It closes and holds the air from coming in very sturdy.
I need 2 more with smaller vent sizes, I hope I can get the same product.
I just arrived in my camp and the first on my list was to install my new adjustable ceiling vent covers.
They fit in the existing ceiling hole precisely as stated, and regulate the air flow in whatever direction I desire, or to close off.

I am still thrilled with our purchase. One hot Texas summer down and heading into another hot one. The vents are great and I can open and close as needed.
