What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this Valterra vent register. So it's for heating and cooling. So you can direct the air where you want it to go in your rig. Now, this is also gonna be a 6 7/8 diameter application.
So just make sure that matches what you got in your rig so that you can install it too. Let's check it out. The vents operate really easily. You can just push in on the dampers to get them to move. It's a little stiff when you first get it, but that's okay.
It's better than being loose and not staying in place like it should. And then you can also grab the damper and rotate to get that direction you want as well. So just be careful when you're going to move it. Don't pull out too hard or anything. It slides pretty easily to get it whatever direction you need it to be.
This is gonna be an example of a fixed vent. So you can see, I can't move the dampers either way and it's kind of splitting the air. Now you can rotate it a little bit here in its spot but that's not a lot of adjustability. Another great thing about controlling the air flows, you can shut it off too, so you can close the dampers if you don't wanna waste any air in that spot. I've seen a lot of comments online.
People hooking one of these up into their fifth wheel and they actually close them closer to the AC unit. So say that's at the back of the rig. That way the cold air actually gets up to the front where they need it to go. So you don't waste that cold air right there next to the a AC unit. You can just control that flow to get it to go a little bit further by just closing these vents up. So you got the initial part that you're gonna install first and that has the screws in it that holds it in place. And this is what snaps into it. So what's nice about this is the bevel here on the outside actually covers up the screws. So it looks like a nice clean install when you pop it into place. It's gonna come in two pieces, really easy to install, check out how we did it. Went ahead and removed the old vent and that one had three screws, which we we're lucky that it matches up with the pattern on our bevel here. Now we're gonna add it into place. So we just wanna match that up right there and add our screws. Go ahead and use the existing holes if they line up. If they don't, you can make new ones too, but I'm just gonna use the ones we got and run these screws back in. I'll push our vent portion up right there. Let it snap into place really easy. And now we can open up the dampers. We can even rotate this inside to get the air flowing exactly where you want it to go. Overall, an easy fix. I like it much better than the standard vent before where you couldn't control what direction it's going. Now you have full control on wherever that air goes wherever you need it to be. I like that. It's gonna make things much more comfortable in the rain. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and hope this helped..

I used this vent for an unusual application in my home. It covers the end of an exposed 4” HVAC duct. It has worked perfectly as a heat register in my exercise room. Thanks for the great product!

My AC units couldn't cool down my RV.. Tried everything from the factory and after no reply from the manufacture, turned to the blog. It was suggested some sort of direct vent may help....done and done!! The 5" etrailer Valterra A/C vent looks great, shipped fast and was reasonably priced.....but more importantly, I finally get cool on those hot days!!....

The second set of these I have bought. Same problem. Love the way they work, the price is right, BUT, information on the product is incorrect. Last time I was asked to make a review I made the same comment. The ID is NOT 5 in. as stated, but, 5 1/2 in. Was asked to take a picture, but, had already installed them. This time, took pictures prior to installation. See attached photos. One shows info on the back of package which is the same info quoted on your website. The other photo is the actual size of the unit.

The vent cover is no white, it is a tan or beige color and is not 5” but 5-1/2”. It does look different then my original vent cover. Not sure why the description is not correct about the color or size. If you are looking for a tan 5-1/2 vent cover then this would be great.

I have a 2020 Forest River Salem Hemisphere GLX 273RL
These fit my ac vents perfect! Exactly what I wanted.
I’m not sure if they are making the vents bigger on new campers or not, but mine are 5-1/2” ID.

The vents in the garage part of my RV were fixed position. These louvered models snapped right in. Now I have some control over the air flow back there. Note: The collars that screw into the ceiling are included, though I just left the old ones in place.

They work fine. Installed them when I added a second air conditioner to the 5th wheel. They now control the airflow to the bedroom from the original air conditioner when we need it for hot nights.

They work great. They was a little bigger in size than my original ones so I had to cut out the duct board and ceiling a little bit but not a big deal. I love that the close up. With my tt being 35 ft long the master bedroom was always cold but the bunkhouse never got any cold air, but with these vents I am able to close down and damper areas so the kids don't sweat. Love them! Would buy them again without question.

These are awesome. Install these in my 35 foot heartland, because the vents that was in there had no way to damper. And my daughter in the way back never got cold air. Now she does. We can regulate which rooms get air. Wish I would have bought sooner!

Really like this product. They work better than the originals that I replaced. The only complaint is they are bigger around than that ad shows. Had to enlarge the holes in the ceiling, that is the size the ad says. Still, a bit of work and like I said, way better than the originals they replaced.

It fits, and is the correct color. Also was delivered fast. Not much to get excited about replacing a broken vent cover.

- Difference Between White and Medium White Valterra Adjustable A/C Ceiling Registers If the register you're replacing is more of an off-white/cream then you will want to go with the Valterra A/C Ceiling Register - White # A10-3358VP. This is an off-white color compared to the brighter, pure white on the Valterra Medium White # A10-3359VP. I have attached a side-by-side comparison image of the two assemblies that you can check out as well.

Still working fine after a year, no problems there. Still, the comment on size still applies, they are not 5 as stated but 5 12. This is what many others have found out also. With the aid of my Dremel tool I made my 5 holes 5 12 to install the vent.
