Pure Power Packet

Over time, waste can build up along the inside of your RV's sewer pipes and holding tank. This can lead to nasty sewer odors, or worse, clogged plumbing. The Valterra Pure Power packets are designed to help break down lingering waste in your RV's plumbing, eliminating odors and keeping your sewer pipes from backing up. And with a pre-measured, biodegradable compound, just 1 pouch can treat up to 40 gallons. Just fill your toilet bowl, drop in the pouch, and flush.

AJ: What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this Deluxe RV Starter Kit from Valterra. This is going to have some basic items to help you get started on your first few adventures, helping you learn the ropes.I'm going to go ahead and show you how to use each one of the items that come in here and maybe give you some add-ons you might want to get with this kit to help you down the line. Let's check it out.First thing we're going to check out is our fresh water hose. This one spans 25'. So that's plenty to get this end to your city water connection at the camp site and this end to your rig.

Now, the kit does also include this water regulator. You're going to screw this on the side that connects to the city water connection on the campsite, and it's going to help regulate the pressure coming out because those things might have 100 PSIs of pressure coming through. Your pipes on your rig aren't designed for that. You could actually blow one of them, and it might not be right then, but it could be down the line when it's harder to fix. So having one of these is really helpful dropping from 100 PSIs to a safe 50 PSIs that your rig can handle. Now we're ready to hook up our hose to our rig.

Want to go to the city water connection right here and just screw it in. Now the water can run up into here, and you've got water. Now, things I recommend adding too, as you can see, the hose can come down and get pinched because it has no support. So you can get one of these brass hose savers that actually screws into this side, and the bend will be here in the brass. So you don't have to worry about damaging your hose over a long time.

We're going to screw that one in the same way we would do the hose. Get my hand out of the way so you guys can see. Now, we attach our hose down here, and you can see there's no more bend. It goes straight down. It's not putting any extra stress on the hose.

It's here, and this is going to hold up way longer, along with the hose lasting way longer with the help of this.Another thing I would think about adding is a water filter, and external ones, it'll screw in right here between the hose and our hose saver here. That way, the water from the campsite's filtered on its way into your rig because you don't know how good they have it filtered, and sometimes it's just not good water. You want to make sure it's nice and filtered for when you got inside. This is the power converter that comes with the kit. It works with 15 to 30 amps. If you have a 30-amp plug on your rig, like we do here, you can just plug it in like that. Now you can plug it in to your house, like your garage or something like that. If you we're setting up your RV for the weekend, you're getting it cleaned up, you want the lights on, just run the electricity, you can plug it in your house with this adapter. Now, I don't know necessarily if this is the best way to do it. I would be more inclined to get a power cord like this, this kind of adapter, because I think it's just going to hold up way longer, and when you're messing with electricity, you want to make sure you're safe and your equipment doesn't wear out. You can see how much more heavy duty this one is, and it's easier with the loops to unplug it.Also comes with a few things to help you in the bathroom. You got four rolls of two-ply toilet paper that are safe for your tank on your rig because you can't use the same toilet paper that's in your house. Plumbing's not the same. It's going to gunk things up and cause issues down the line. Stick to this toilet paper, and you'll be okay. Another thing to help with the tanks is this bio pouch here. You're going to drop that in your toilet, and it's going to help break down the things that are in your tank so that way toilet paper gets broken down, waste gets broken down. When you go to dump the tank, it will be very easy. It also adds a nice scent to the inside of your RV. So it won't be smelly. This kit includes a 20' sewer hose. I'm going to give one end to my camera man, Aiden, here, and he's going to back up, just show you how much we got to work with. You connect it down here to your tank, and you can see, you can park plenty far away from the sewer when you go to dump it. This end here is the one that connects to your tank. It's got a bayonet-style fitting. It'll just go in and have these pegs, and you'll twist it and it'll lock in place. This end is the one you'll have your sewer attachment on, but unfortunately, the kit does not include that. You'll have to buy that separately. With that being said, I'd like to give you another recommendation. They actually, Valterra has another kit called the Easy Coupler Kit, and it comes with the sewer hose that has both fittings on it. You got the same bayonet style fitting, but this side is the one that hooks up to your sewer attachment which is also included. This is how the bayonet works, like I was telling you. Just turn in there, those tabs are nice and secure. It's not coming apart. Then your sewer attachment here also fits dump tanks of 3, 3-1/2, and 4" in diameter. So that way, whatever you have at your campsite, it'll fit in there. It also has this clear elbow here so you can see when it goes from gross colors to clear, your tank is clean and empty.Overall, I think it's an okay starter kit. I think it's missing some crucial items that you're going to need on your adventures. That's why I recommend some extra stuff to help build on if you go with this one, or if you go with the other one I recommended, you can still add those extra things on there and make life easier.I think that does it for our look at this kit. I hope that helped..
