Vacuum Breaker Outlet

The vacuum breaker lets you attach a handheld shower set (sold separately) to make cleaning mud and sand off the kids, pets, and shower walls even easier. The vacuum breaker also has an anti-siphon device - a small air hole that drains water back out of the hose to prevent your dirty shower water from contaminating your clean water supply.

2-Hole Installation

This valve lets you upgrade the shower valve in your RV or camper. It includes a deck plate and 2 sets of mounting nuts. The black mounting nuts thread onto the shanks, whereas the gray quick-connect mounting nuts just slide right on. Depending on your preference, you could use either set of mounting nuts for installation. Using the standard NPSM inlet shanks, slide the new valve and deck plate in place through the mounting holes. Then hand-tighten the mounting nuts against the backside of the wall, and connect the hot and cold water lines.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Utopia RV Shower Valve by LaSalle Bristol. This is an ABS plastic construction valve. It's going to be very lightweight and yet still very durable. You can see it's got the white color finish on it.

It's going to be a very nice upgrade for your shower valve in your RV or your camper. On the top here, we do have our vacuum breaker, which is going to allow us to attach our handheld shower set. That handheld shower set is sold separately, but once you have it attached, it is going to prevent the backflow contamination of your clean water supply, so you're not going to have to worry about that. You can see, we do have the dual handle design with the teacup style handles here. That's going to allow us greater precision in our water temperature so we can get it set just where we like it.These handles do have a washerless design, which is going to help reduce the friction and daily wear of use so that this will last a lot longer.

This unit is UPC, cUPC and NSF, as well as ANSI certified. You know, it's held to high standards. It's met all those certifications. To get this mounted, we'll simply remove our old shower valve. You can see on the back here, we do have two shanks, so this is going to be a two hole installation.

These inlet shanks are your standard male NPSM connections. You're not going to have to worry about finding unique fittings or anything like that. Most of your plumbing supplies should fit with these. Our kit is also going to include our deck plate, which we'll put on the back of our shower valve, before we put it into our shower wall. Then on the back, we're going to have a couple of different options. We've got either the threaded mounting nuts, which are our traditional option.

You'll tighten these down until they make contact with the wall, that's going to provide the tension to make sure that our shower valve isn't too wobbly. The other option we have are these quick connect mounting nuts. These, as you can see, they slide on. Once you have them in place, you clamp them down and that's supposed to hold in place like that. I haven't had much luck with these. I don't know that I would necessarily trust them, but the kit does include both options. If you would like to try these, you're welcome to, but you're also going to get, what are, in my opinion, the more trustworthy threaded mounting nuts, as well as these two rubber washers, to make sure that everything is nice and tight. One thing that is not included in the kit and I do recommend is some thread seal tape. Anytime I work with plumbing, I like to make sure that all my threads have this on them to make sure everything is nice and water tight. You can pick this up at most hardware stores. We do sell it here at etrailer.com. You can find it using part number A zero five dash zero two six five. Our overall dimensions for our shower valve, with our handles out to the side, we're looking at right about 9-1/4" inch wide. With our vacuum breaker on the top here, right about 2-7/8" inch tall. From where we'll mount it on our shower, it's right about 3-1/2" inches deep. If we're just measuring the base itself without our handles, it's going to be right about 6-3/16" of an inch wide. Without the vacuum breaker up here, we're looking at right about 2-1/8" of an inch tall. These shanks, as I said, are the NPSM connections. So you're not going to have to worry about that. The inner diameter, it's going to be kind of hard to tell, but I did measure with digital calipers a moment ago, and they are right about a 1/2" inch inner diameter. The outer diameter is about 13/16" of an inch. The distance between from center to center is 4" inches. These are right about 1-1/2" inches long. Our vacuum breaker valve is again right about 13/16" outer diameter. So we can make sure that this will work for your needs. This does come with a five-year limited warranty from LaSalle Bristol. You know they stand behind their products and trust that it's going to hold up for us. That's going to complete our look at the Utopia RV Shower Valve by LaSalle Bristol.

I would have given it a 5 star if it did not come with the Etrailer logo on it.

We'd been looking for months for a replacement faucet for our year 2000 camper. After logging off all of my devices (to hopefully circumvent 'relevance'), I ran my search again and etrailer was one of the top results. Because the photos and video were precise, clear, taken from all angles and with detailed measurements, I was able to compare with my old faucet. I was so pleased that it was an exact fit!! I'll be using them again soon. We're still rehabbing this little camper and etrailer is now my go to spot for replacement parts.

by:

Website was easy to use. For me the best part was the measurements of the faucets. It took the guess work out of knowing what would fit and match what we wanted. Installation went well. Love the look of it and it even gives us higher water pressure than our old one which was a nice surprise. Overall, I would definitely order from them again.

by:

Trailer folks are just great! I chose a shipping method that wasn't an option for my address, and they called me right away to get it figured out. That's right, called me person to person. That is some awesome customer service right there! Oh yeah, the part was a perfect match too, took longer for the Teflon goop to dry than to install the fixture itself

by:

I bought this because the faucet in our RV was very low and I wanted a faucet that had a higher outlet. It doesn’t go out very far into the sink, so, when washing your hands, water drips onto the counter top. I removed it and went back to the original faucet. I have since the found a swivel attachment that makes the water flow out further into the sink. I put this faucet back with the swivel and all should be fine.

by:

It was an amazing product exact fit no cutting or pre-measuring, the best part is the new shower valve works exceptional,
Ps..
Please don't laugh...

by:

Perfect replacement for the plain white fixture that came on the camper. 30 minute removal and install.

by:

It's the exact replacement on a 2017 Keystone Springdale. Fairly easy replacement. Most difficult part is the small amount of room for access to the two water feed lines. But very possible with patience. Also Be prepared to replace the seals at the inlet water lines with new ones. It would be good on the etrailer web site for this faucet to have the seals listed to add to your order.
There are two strainer screens within the faucet at the water inlet lines. Keep those screens in mind because they are prone to fouling up and obstructing water flow. When that happens you have to remove the whole faucet again to clean them.
Anyway the faucet is the perfect replacement and works great

by:

The faucet looked nice but it didn't fit on top of the new sink I ordered as well as the 1/2" stems were too short so I had to send it back. I did attempt to attach it to see if it did fit but between the thickness of the new sink and my counter top no way would it work.

by:

This LaSalle Bristol RV Shower valve replaced original OEM part perfectly. Works great!

by:

The one I received and installed today suffers from the same problem that others have encountered with this particular model: the hot water side has an issue that restricts the flow of water to the center pull-down spout. The cold water flow is just fine, and having reconnected the original faucet being replaced, both the hot and cold water flow just fine, and there is no issue with the hot water pressure. Unfortunately I will be returning this unit and asking for a refund.

by:

Fit as it should without modifications. Handle turn is firm so as not to move during travel. Works well.

by:

Not sure what I expected but way better than what came with the RV. I am new to RV'ing and you all made it so easy.
Order processed right away and came in a few days. I have found new friends.

by:

1 year later with this in our camper. This faucet is still working well.

by:

This faucet was a great addition to the trailer. Quite a help at the sink. Service and delivery was wonderful. Definately a good purchaase.

by:

Exactly what I wanted - an RV bathroom faucet you can use without sticking your head in the sink! And = it's way more elegant than the one that came with the RV!

by:

Perfect replacement - works GREAT!

by:

I got 3 faucuts from etrailer and have put new life to an old camper

by:

The Utopia rv kitchen faucet with pull down spout was a great upgrade from the original faucet provided with our rv. My wife loves it and the install was simple and the provided installation instructions was easy to follow. I would highly recommend this faucet.

by:

Very light weight and dependable faucet.
Thank you etrailer!!

by:

quality looks good, fit was correct and price was very reasonable

by:

We REALLY like this faucet and have had it out on three trips now. Installed it in a 2020 Grand Design 2600RB. Construction faucets barely get into the bowl of the basin and this "upgrade" goes high and nearly into the center of the basin. Washing hands and rinsing out something are no longer a chore. I "might" have spent all of ten minutes for the installation; standard 1/2" FNPT male threads allowed the PEX hose disconnect and reconnect during the faucet exchange. I would recommend this product to anyone as an RV upgrade.

by:

I wanted a faucet that I could get my head under in the small bathroom sink. This one did the trick k perfect tly.

by:

Easy to install. Pleased with appearance. Have not figured out how to remove screen to allow for cleaning of hard water deposits or debris. If not removable, this will be a drawback.

  • Can The Ultra Faucets RV Shower Valve Be Changed To Place The Hose Connection On The Bottom
I took the Ultra Faucets RV Shower Valve w/ Vacuum Breaker # 277-000024 apart and found that the cartridge only fits one way and they make the valves so that you wouldn't be able to disassemble and rotate the connection to the bottom. Since there's no hot or cold indicators on the this faucet you could just install it upside down, but the lever would look a little goofy sticking up and the hot and cold would be reversed when turning the lever. We do offer some other faucets that have...
