When winterizing your RV, don't waste antifreeze by letting it fill up your RV's water heater tank. Instead, use this permanent bypass kit to keep the antifreeze in your RV's water lines. Valve allows fast, easy activation every winter.

Features:

  • Bypass kit redirects the flow of water away from your water heater
    • Save up to 10 gallons of antifreeze during winterization
  • Permanent installation doesn't require removal each year
    • Install valve on tank and connect to both the hose and your RV's water line
    • Connect backflow preventer to tank to keep antifreeze from flowing back into your water heater
    • Turn valve to block antifreeze from entering your tank when prepping for winter, and reopen valves for use in spring
  • Lead-free brass valves won't contaminate your water lines
  • Thread tape tightly seals connections

Specs:

  • Application: 10-gallon water heater tanks
  • Hose length: 12-7/8"
  • Valve dimensions: 2-1/2" long x 1-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" deep

Bypass Your Water Heater

When winterizing your RV, the antifreeze you pump through your RV's water lines might not be going where it needs to go. Without a bypass, up to 10 gallons of antifreeze can be wasted by collecting in your RV's water heater tank instead of moving throughout your pipes. Use this bypass kit to keep antifreeze out of your tank and inside your water lines.

Installation

This kit permanently connects to your RV's water heater tank. Install the bypass valve and backflow preventer onto your tank and connect them with the included hose. When you're ready to put your RV into storage, turn the bypass valve to block antifreeze from entering your tank. Then you can pump antifreeze through your water lines without having to worry about it collecting in the water heater tank.

When spring rolls around and you're ready to take your RV out of storage, re-adjust the valve and flush your water lines with clean water.

  • What Is The Difference Between A Check Valve And By-Pass Kit
Antifreeze leaking into the water heater could be remotely caused by a bad check valve, however, this would all depend on the location of the check valve. Generally speaking, there are only 2 check valves installed in the plumbing system for an RV. There is one coming from the city water inlet and one on the fresh water tank. A check valve such as the Valterra Check Valve part # P23415LFVP is designed to prevent water from backfeeding into your freshwater tank or city water connection and...
