Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the JR products; Barbecue Adapter Hose. Like most of the propane hoses, this is designed to allow your LP gas to flow through so you can power up a propane powered appliance. In this case, that's going to be your gas grill. Whenever you're looking for a propane hose, whatever the situation is, I would recommend two different things to focus in on to make sure that it's going to work for your setup.
The first thing is going to be the length. Obviously you want it to be able to reach from your gas grill to your propane tank. This hose is two feet long and then in my mind, that's not very long, so you do want to keep that in mind. If your setup, if you, if your grill is going to be less than two feet away from your tank, you should be fine with this hose. If you need anything more than that, you might look at a different option. This hose is a rubber hose, so it's not going to kink or crack.
It's going to be very flexible. You're not going to have to worry about that. It does have an internal diameter of five sixteenths of an inch, so that should be plenty of room for that propane to flow through there, so not something that you should have to worry about as long as this is the length that you need. Make sure that you don't need anything longer than two feet. The second thing that you should focus in on are your fittings. There's lots of different kinds of propane sittings out there, so you want to make sure that you're getting the fittings that are going to work for you.
This hose has two different kinds of fittings. We're going to have our type one or it's sometimes called a QCC run or an acne fitting. This is going to thread onto the nozzle of your gas tank and because it threads onto the outer threads, it does use the righty-tighty, lefty-loosey method, which is going to be pretty intuitive for those of us who know that. You're not going to need any special tools to get this tightened down. You can see it's got this very easy to use handle.
We've got our regulator built-ins, so we're not going to have to worry about that. This is a pretty standard fitting. It is going to work with almost all of your propane cylinders. They all have that outer threading that will work with that acne setting. Our other side is going to be a three eight inch female swivel S-A-E flare fitting. Let me break that down a little bit for you. So the swivel just means that this end will twist like that. It's going to be a lot easier to thread onto our male fitting, rather than having to crank on the hose to get good and tighten down. So, that's going to be nice. It's going to save us some time and energy there. The S-A-E refers to the threading on the inside, the kind of threading. There are several different kinds of S-A-E fittings. So this is a S-A-E flare fitting. You can see on the inside there how it kind of tapers down towards the center. That's your flare and that's where your female and male meet up and they're going to create a nice tight seal. So you do want to make sure that you have a male flare fitting that you're needing the female flare fitting to meet up with. So those are your two kinds of fittings. You do just want to make sure that those are the kinds that you need. This hose is going to be S-A-E or sorry, C-S-A-N-U-L certified. So, that's going to mean it's going to meet those high quality standard. You can trust it's going to do the job well, do what you need it to do. If it inspires more confidence in you, this hose is also made here in the USA, so you know it should hold up well, high quality standards there as well. Now, if this isn't the hose that you need, like I said, it is pretty short. Maybe you need a longer hose or you need different fittings. I would encourage you to come take a look at our other options here at etrailer.com. We've got lots of different products, different hoses with different lengths and fittings. We always want to make sure that you're getting the product that you need the first time so that you can solve your problem and get back to enjoying your time outdoors. That's why we're here. That's why we make these videos so that you can see the products before you buy them. That's going to complete our look at the JR products, Barbecue Adapter Hose.
