Hello, friends. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at the concealed mounting kit, for the rod buckle retractable fish and rod tie-down strap. Now this kit will conceal most of your rod buckle system behind the wall of your boat's gunnel. Now it will require you to cut into the gunnel. And it does have a one year warranty.

So, this kit's gonna include the mounting plastic brackets here, this guy here, and this is the part where your strap would come out through the gunnel. So this part would be flush onto your gunnel, and then the strap would come out there. It's got the nine hardware as well. So, this kit is gonna offer you the most concealed option for your rod buckle. And, it's actually a little more difficult to install than the original mounting method, for the original rod buckle.

Now that original one is sold separately. It's part number is I-M-F 1-4-2-0-0. So again, that's the original one. This guy here, the concealed mounting kit, this one here is I-M-F 1-4-2-0-2. Rod buckle retractable rod tie down with conceal kit works great replaced old one on my triton not much room up behind rod box not allowing me to use the feed piece that comes with the kit so I got a long wire tied one end to the end of buckle strap and fished the wire through gun wake hole slid rod buckle to position in wall of boat pulled wire through pulled rod strap through boat wall tote which allowed to line up screw holes to complete installation very easy. Rod buckle works great got 11 years out of the one I replaced and it saw a lot of use.

Same as OEM that was installed. However, the heat here in MS can warp the plastic drum holder, causing the strap to not retract. Overall, I would buy again. It is the only choice for hidden retractable rod holders on the market.
