The kit is fine. Leave a ton of time to install. Watch out for the wire harness that is right below the aft driver side bolts it right under the drilling location……….

For your 2012 Dodge Ram with a 5-1/2 foot bed I recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # BWRVK3200 along with the B&W Semi-Custom 5th Wheel Installation Kit for Dodge Ram # BWRVR3205-00. This is a fixed 5th wheel hitch and will work with your RamBox. In order to make this work you will also need a rotating pin box like a Reese Sidewinder. Since you have a 6-1/2' bed you'll want to go with a sliding fifth wheel hitch to gain some additional turning clearance and avoid having the nose of the trailer hit the cab of your Ram. Recommended 5th Wheel Rails and Hitch for a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500
The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3270 will most likely not work in your 2014 Ram 1500 since you have the 5-1/2' bed. If you had the 6-1/2" you would definitely be ok but the super short beds are just not big enough for sliders. Since you have the 5-1/2' bed a better option for clearance would be to use the non-sliding B&W Patriot item # BWRVK3255 along with a rotating pin box. The slider will not give you enough clearance to avoid hitting the back of your truck....

What Is The 5th Wheel Towing Capacity Of A 2010 Ram 1500 5.7 Quad Cab 4x4
According to what I can see in the online user guide, your 2010 Ram 1500 5.7 Quad Cab 4x4 should have a 10,450 lb max towing weight and a 1,510 lb max payload. That being said there is a lot of variance between these different Ram models, and we do suggest consulting your owners manual to confirm the towing capacities of your specific vehicle.
