Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

I wanted to thank you guys for a great product. I belong to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter3 here in Columbus, Oh. We purchased your hitch and installed it for a 90-year old World War II veteran. We donated and also installed a carrier, which is slides into the hitch. The veteran can now load his scooter on the carrier and go where ever.
Thanks again.

by:

Installation was easy and quick, used hitch to bring camper I purchased home and worked excellent, very good purchase and product with very good instructions.
Thanks, AAAAA+++++++

by:

Pros: Instructions were easy to follow and the installation video was a good supplement.

Good shielding on the wires.

No splicing required.

Cons:

The trailer wire is a little on the short side. Would like to have a little more slack to the trailer.

Running a direct wire to the battery added a lot of time to the installation and added a lot more complexity.

I ordered the correct product per the website and it doesn’t fit, Its costing me extra labor at the shop and they’re attaching it in a less secure place and having to drill it into the car. Circumstantially I do not have time to return this product but I am extremely dissatisfied.

I wanted to see if you can explain in more detail how the harness did not fit for you. If it helps we have a video installation that we did on a 2014 Nissan Maxims.

2013 Nissan Altima

This is my third wiring harness purchased from etrailer and all installations went according to plan. This was installed on a 2013 Nissan Model Altima S. NIce neat installation. Instead of running the wire and the plug out the trunk, I used one of the two rubber plugs at the bottom of the spare tire well (I used the one closest to the back of the car). If you pull the rubber plug out, cut a hole in the plug about the shape and size of the wires, then cut one side of the plug all the way through so you can put the wires inside the hole you cut. Then reinsert the rubber plug with wire installed in it. Next remove the tire well shield underneath the car enought to see the wire and plug you just installed and pull it towards the back. Buy a connector mount and mount it to the trailer hitch. Mount the connector a little higher then the lowest point of the hitch to avoid damaging it in case you hit a low spot. Good luck

Zach

Hey I just read your review, I also have the same 2013 Altima s, and I am trying to run wires through pretty much the same thing you are talking about. I see that rubber plug, but where does it come out underneath the car? Also, what tire well shield are you referring too? Any information you can provide would be amazing, and most appreciated.Thank you, Zach

Thanks etrailer for your informative videos. I haven't installed the connecter due to a busy schedule and it arrived earlier than anticipated. When my order was confirmed it said my part would arrive on Monday but it actually showed up on Friday. The parts sent were exactly correct and after watching the videos I saved 50% from the first quote that I was given locally. Also the reason that I'm confident about the right parts having been ordered and shipped is due to the fact that I installed the wrong parts that I was sold from auto zone earlier in my project. Next time I won't waste my time and money at local stores who employ zombies and I will highly recommend etrailer to anyone in the future.

This light wire kit was a snap to install, it took longer to remove the inside trim than it did to connect the unit. Great product!

2010 Nissan Altima

Good product. Installed in the trunk without a problem and I was able to route the trailer connector through the grommet under the spare and strap it to my hitch. This kept me from having to pull it out and close my trunk on it each time I was pulling a trailer. Be ready to spend some time making your way to the battery. That part is very time consuming. I was able to go along side my gas tank and run the wire with the break lines all the way to the front strapping it as I went along. My wire isn't going to be caught by a stray stick in the driveway!!

This was such an awesome experience!!! My husband and I stumbled across etrailer.com when we searched for online videos on how to install a hitch. We then purchased all the materials needed directly from the website. Neither of us know a whole lot about cars but were able to easily install the hitch and wiring by watching their install video and the paper instructions sent with the products. The part of this experience I am MOST impressed by is when I got a call shortly after placing my online order to let me know that what I had originally purchased was not compatible with each other. She then continued to efficiently and successfully modify my order to all the right products needed and I didn’t have to do a thing! If that’s not great customer service then I don’t know what is!!! Without that phone call, I would have received incompatible products and been in a real pickle due to time constraints. THANK YOU SO MUCH ETRAILER! You guys rock! Because of you, I now have so much more confidence in doing self-maintenance on my car.

Looks great, easy to install, good directions and product

Shipping was a day earlier than promised! Can't beat the price ... anywhere! I got a Hidden Hitch and wiring harness. The only thing I noticed were a couple of small paint chips / scratches down to bare metal on the hitch frame. I sprayed undercoating over the entire frame so that I wont every have to worry about any rust. Thanks etrailer!

2013 Nissan Altima

Unfortunately I ordered the wrong one at first, and spent way too long trying to make it work. Once I realized my mistake I ordered the right part. It took less time install this then it does for me to hook the boat onto the hitch. Yeah, I could have wired my own harness to the taillights, but this took no time at all. Well worth the price!

by:

I ordered the T-One vehicle wiring harness for my 2010 Nissan Sentra. Wow! The last time I wired a vehicle for trailer lights, I nearly needed an electrical degree. The folks who produced this harness has it all thought out for you and makes for a simple and reliable installation. In addition, the design provides you with all modular connectors, so there is no need to cut into the wiring on your expensive automobile. (No potential faulty hookups here!) You've got absolute safety without affecting your vehicle's warranty. Definitely worth the price, and you've got the excellant service that etrailer provides to each and every customer. Many thanks to Drew for his help in making my selection!

2012 Nissan Sentra

Very straightforward install...until you get to the power cable. Watched a video indicting to drop the cable out a grommet and then down below the trunk then route it under the vehicle. This was quite tedious, and without clear instructions, I am unsure how good of a job it is. cable states route away from hot exhaust, but the trunk grommet comes out right by the exhaust. If you aren't comfortable with running power cables, I'd recommend having a pro do this for you. The modular harness is awesome, made for easily installation of the kit.

Instalation was easy. It helps if your somewhat of a handy person. The trunk part was really easy. (be careful removing the rear plastic). Running the wires from the engine compartment took a little work. It help to have car ramps.
Watch the online video it will guide you.
I haven't pulled my trailer as of this review but I tested everything and it checked out fine.
Thanks

Great product, good price and surprised by the high quality components. Installation was a breeze with the provided intructions. The harder part of installation was routing the power wire to the battery. Delivery to Mtl from order took 10 days to my door. USPS is great for shipping to canada and the parcel go thru the border without supplemental fee like thoses charged by FEDEX or alike providers.

Thank you very much, Jack.

product works well. had a little scare but determined that the Harbor Freight trailer had a non existent ground. I had to run separate ground to all four lights.

2007 Nissan Sentra

The hitch that i purchased for my 2007 Nissan Sentra fit up very nicely and came with all the parts required to complete the job. The instillation videos on the web site made the process a breeze. The wiring harness also came with everything needed and there was also an instillation video available on the web site. I would Highly recommend Etrailer

Anyway, i can pull my carpet extractor around now :)

Hitch and wiring harness have worked great. Absolutely no issues.

I do NOT recommend this product. This product requires a high skill level and much more time to complete! I am going to return this product. The product description should have included this information to the consumer!!!! This wiring ( 118470 T-one W/prot Modulite) is NOT what the product was advertised. It should have been made it very clear in the product description that installation REQUIRED it to be hard wired into the vehicle battery via a long wire from the rear trunk area all the way to the battery in the front of the car.

by:
2015 Nissan Altima

This actually plugged right in and took only 30 minutes or so to install after watching etrailer's video. It tucks away by the spare tire when not in use and you wouldn't even know it was there if you didn't know where to look for it.

by:
2014 Nissan Altima

Product is as described. Fits 2014 Nissan Altima perfectly. Installation was as expected. Running power from battery was the only time consuming task. Instructions were correct and accurate. Install time was approximately 30-40 minutes.

  • Can I Tow a Malone MicroSport Trailer with a Nissan Altima
What that means is that the Malone MicroSport trailer, part # MPG460G, is level when the bottom of the coupler is 18 inches off the ground. To tow the trailer level you need a ball mount with a rise. Park your Nissan Altima on level ground and measure from the ground the inner top of the receiver hitch. When we installed the Draw-Tite hitch on an Altima we measured 10-1/4 inches. You'll likely be close to this but measure your car so you're sure. Then subtract your measurement from...
