Recommendation for Adding 7-Way Trailer Connector To 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Question:

I just purchased a hitch and install with not problems great product. I also purchased the Curt T-connector W/ Converter. But what I REALLY need is the 7 blade connector for my camper. What should I do? My vehicle is a 2104 Chevy Traverse WITHOUT the factory tow package. Thanks

The best solution to provide your 2014 Chevrolet Traverse with a 7-Way trailer connector socket is to use the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118271. This wiring harness will plug into an existing connector on your Traverse and includes the necessary relays to activate the trailer wiring system.

I spoke with my contact at Tow Ready to see if this harness will work on your 2014 Traverse without a factory wiring package and he confirmed that it will work great for you. I've attached an installation video of this harness on a similar Traverse as yours for you. The installation instructions are also attached.

Since this wiring harness plugs into a connector on the underside of your Traverse, along the passenger side at the rear, you can leave your Curt # C56181 connector installed behind the taillights. This will allow you to have both functioning 4-Way flat and 7-Way blade-style connectors on your Traverse. Having both style connectors means you can tow a trailer with either style connector and not need an adapter.
