This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located behind your rear bumper on the driver's side.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Should have bought the 2 piece harness for Nissan exterra. You need this piece, but also the relays in passenger side kick panel. Product was excellent but not complete to add lights

Once I remove factory plug from outlet plugging in the accessory wiring kit was extremely easy

Unplug the old plug the new in what could be easier

2017 Nissan Frontier

Matched factory plug perfectly, did cover the wires with split loom to protect them and make it look nicer. My truck didn't have the tow package, so the factory connector was dead, as there are other things that need to be done under the hood to make it live, but thats on me for not reading the guide.

Andrew, thank you for your review. If your 2017 Nissan Frontier does not have a tow package you will need part # C56225 that includes the jumper harness and relays. The relays plug into the jumper harness and the harness installs behind the kick panel of the passenger side front door area. I have attached a link to an install on a 2017 Nissan Frontier.

by:
2017 Nissan Frontier

The wire harness hooked up ok. Right T/signal, Left T/signal ,Brake/lite all worked but I do not have running lights. I will be sending a question regarding this.
All in all its a fair deal

Great wiring harness

Great quality, with handy accessories and for less money than from competitors. I've bought several items from etrailer.com, including entire hitch assemblies, and have been satisfied every time.

2012 Nissan Frontier

Screw splicing wires unless you just like being frustrated, miserable, and having regretful thoughts. Even if you are poor.....this will probably be cheaper! If a car has a trailer light hookup this is the ONLY way to go. I had this plugged in working in less than a minute. Hardest part on any of this is finding the wiring adapter on the vehicle. Took me 10 seconds to find it on the Frontier and about 30 seconds to get it hooked up....getting the cover plug off to expose the clean receptacle took some wiggling and a screw driver to push the little release tab. OK, I'll say it took 3 minutes because I had to send my son downstairs to get the little flathead screwdriver!

by:

6 yrs ago when I purchased my truck it didn’t have the trailer wiring on it. I shopped around and fought this product and purchased it. I had an issue last year and thought it was the harness so I purchased another one but as it turns out it was a blown fuse deep down in my fuse panel under the hood of my truck. So this is the second one I have bought and I don’t need it because the first one I purchased is still going strong but at this price and quality I’m going to hold on to it in case I do need it down the road. Great product

by:

Just what I needed. Easy to install. Price was reasonable also.

Nissan Frontier

I purchased a hitch, ball mount, ball and wiring for my Frontier. I thought your people were very pleasant. professional and helpful. I did have an issue with power to my lights but after watching one of your video instructions, I realized that I needed to purchase some additional in cab wiring that was shipped promptly. Just installed it and everything works perfectly. By buying your products and doing it myself, I saved about $150. Nice! Thanks

by:

Good product and installed easily.

by:

Worked perfectly. Arrived as promised.

The product is great although I have noticed that the male connector is breaking off or bend over and my break

2012 Nissan Frontier

These are so great and easy. Have ordered these for other vehicles in past, this was for our 12 Frontier. My son put it in took a minute, then a few more to route wire/plug out to back and secure along the route. After 5 minutes, he jumped in the truck to go bring home another Honda

by:

Found what I needed and it shipped promptly. Thanks!

by:
2011 Nissan Frontier

perfect, easy

by:

Order was shipped the same day I placed it and arrived in at my home in NC 2 days later. The hitch look great, but I haven't been able to mount it yet. The nuts welded to my Frontier's frame have rusted and it's a slow, arduous process to clear the threads. We live in the mountains & roads are frequently salted in winter. etrailer has a good video on their site regarding clearing the threads, but mine are particularly bad.

by:

Product fit right out of the box. Shipping was
quick as was installation. Price was was fantastic. I will order all my trailer accessories from etrailor.com in the future.

by:

Snapped into the factory plug exactly like the description said it would. We've always used Hopkins. Thanks.

  • Recommended Wiring Harness for 2016 Nissan Frontier Without Tow Package
For your 2016 Nissan Frontier without a tow package, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118266. This will allow you to easily connect to your factory wiring and have a 7-way. If you only want the 4-way flat since you are using a small trailer, you can alternatively use the # C56225. Many with even small trailers prefer the 7-way but you can use an adapter like # 47345 or a 7-way with integrated 4-way flat like # HM40950. For the trailer hitch,...

  • Are Relays Needed to Install Trailer Wiring in 2006 Nissan Frontier
If your 2006 Nissan Frontier does not have the factory trailer wiring it would need relays to activate it. For that you would need the part # C56225. If you have the relays already all you would need is the part # HM43575. If you look behind the kick panel in the passenger side of the vehicle you will be able to see if the relays and breakers are there.

  • Troubleshooting 2016 Nissan Frontier Trailer Wiring with No Turn Signals
Thank you for describing the trailer lighting issue you're having and the testing/troubleshooting steps you've taken to diagnose the cause. If I understand correctly you have a 4-pole harness such as # HM43575 which does indeed plug in to the OEM tow package wiring under the vehicle. For reference I linked a photo of this item's OEM plug which should match what is on the Frontier. Since you have tested the contacts on the vehicle plug where this item connects (with a tester like # PTW2992)...

Sounds like you are missing the blue relays that activate the stop/turn circuits of the trailer wiring of your 2011 Nissan Frontier which we offer as part number # C57000. If you check out the attached picture you can see where they install. Or you can watch the install video I attached to see how the area is accessed too. It's behind the passenger side kick panel.

There is a replacement harness you can use in your 2014 Nissan Frontier with factory 4-flat but it will not plug into what you are holding. Instead you would need to use the Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM43575, which is designed to be a replacement for your current harness. I also recommend using mounting brackets # 18140 and # 18144 for this harness. I've added links to video reviews of each product for you to take a look at as well.

  • Trailer Lights Do Not Work With 2012 Nissan Frontier
Since some of the lights on your trailer are not working with your 2012 Nissan Frontier, the first thing to do is take a look at your owner's manual to locate any trailer fuses or relays and ensure they are all there and in working order. If they are, in order to determine the specific problem you will need to purchase a circuit tester if you do not have one - the very handy Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979 is my recommendation due to how easy it is to use - and test the connector on your...

  • Troubleshooting Faulty 7-Way Connector on a 2016 Nissan Frontier
Since you have used 2 different adapters and a different pickup that does seem to point towards the wiring on your 2016 Nissan Frontier as the problem. I would try checking your connector for corrosion or debris and then your wiring; especially your grounds. If you are testing with an LED tester then there isn't much load being put on the circuits. Once you plug up your trailer it is drawing much more power (even more so if it has incandescent lights) which will expose any wiring problems...

  • Trailer Running Lights Not Working when Connected to a 2013 Nissan Frontier
On many Nissan vehicles there is an additional running light relay, # C57000, that is needed for the trailer running lights to work. It is normally located in the in-cab fuse panel. Nissan does not list fuse and relay locations in the owner's manual for the 2013 Frontier so you would have to check the fuse panel lids to see if there is a bad or missing relay.

Yes, there will be fuses associated with the trailer lightning circuits on your 2014 Nissan Frontier in the engine bay fuse box. You can first try pulling the relays that you mentioned on your 2010 Nissan Pathfinder and replacing them to see if that fixes your problem. • How Do I Know If I Have The Factory Tow Package Or Not
If you are unsure if you have the tow package or not, the only way to find out for sure would be to contact a dealership with your VIN. With certain vehicles we can sometimes check to see if certain electrical components are present, like a 7-way trailer plug, which would indicate that you do in fact have a tow package installed. That can be kind of hit-or-miss though, and the best way to find out for sure is to contact a dealership.
