For your 2012 Nissan Frontier, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75282. This is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and is an easy installation. It has a square tube design that is sturdy and gives you a clean look. I recommend using the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Trailer Hitches # 63232 for your ball mount and any accessories that don't require a specific threaded pin. This works as a lock and anti-rattle device.
If you will be towing with this hitch receiver, I recommend the # HM43575 if you have the factory 4-way. If you don't have the factory wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118266 for your wiring needs.
For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This will give you an adjustable mount to tow multiple trailers level. It also has two integrated hitch balls to fit a 2 inch coupler or a 2-5/16 inch coupler. This ball mount has a really nice and clean looking stow away option that will protect your shins when not in use.
