Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this replacement tie-down strap for your Roadmaster tow dolly. This is for a quantity of one strap. Now, this part will replace the tie-down strap that's on your Roadmaster tow dolly. This does work on the tow dolly part numbers RM-2000-1 or the RM-2050-1.
Both of those tow dollies we sell separately on our website. This will let you replace one of the straps if it happens to be lost, torn or damaged. Basically, this tie-down strap will secure the vehicle to the tow dolly platform by holding down one tire and wheel. And two of these are required for one tow dolly. One over each tire and wheel.
This tie-down strap is designed to fit up to a 30 inch diameter by 11 inch wide tire. This demonstration, I happen to install it onto a 13 inch tire and wheel that has a 24 inch overall diameter and a seven inch width. It is for a quantity of one tie-down strap. It is made in the USA. And I did install it on here just to show you how you install it.
But basically, what you'll do is this end right here, you can see has a large hook on it. So, if I zoom in, you can see this large steel hook. And what's that's designed for is on your tow dolly, you'll have a bar that runs across and you'll hook this to that bar, so then as you tighten it, that'll hold in place. And then what you'll do is you'll notice there's a ratchet strap on this right here, or a ratchet that you'll crank it until it tightens the belt or the strap this way. And then on this end, you can see there's some extra length of strap.
This is what'll go into the ratchet that's on your tow dolly. Basically, the tow dolly, you'll have a ratchet on it. Again, just let me show you an insert. There's what the ratchet would look like and this strap installs in that. And that way, you can ratchet it down and it'll put the tension on it this way. This one will do it this way. And then this ratchet down here is what'll do it this way. Now, that ratchet, if that is missing, that comes with the tow dolly. That is not on there, and it is missing, and you do need the ratchet, we do also sell that part separately. It's part number RM-2110 and it's listed on this product page as a related product. If you notice, there's a length of strap hanging here that I tied up. Basically, that's for this strap here. And the reason we have a lot of extra is because this is a lot smaller tire and wheel. This strap, as we mentioned, will go up to a 30 inch diameter by 11 inch wide and it would use a lot of this strap. But because it's on the smaller size, you can see we have some extra there. But that should do it for the review on the replacement tie-down strap for the Roadmaster tow dolly..

We bought these expensive straps hoping they would not be cut by a car piece under the wheel well. The straps still are cut and become unsafe to use. We have switched to using cheap ones and consider them disposable.

Used on a Master Tow dolly hauling a KIA Soul, these are the BEST at any price. Easy to use and adjust. Remained secure on highways and bumpy back roads. Better materials to stand up to use in foil weather. (Went through 3 major brands in one year that were high priced junk.) E-Trailer supplied the excellent product I needed. Very happy with them.

The webbing is of excellent quality and the instructions are easy to follow. The buckles/clamps are poorly designed. The jaws are too close to the buckle making it very difficult to get the webbing through the opening. I had to stitch fishing line to the webbing and then pull the webbing through the opening. Otherwise, these wheel net systems will work well securing my car to the tow dolly.

- Are Safety Chains Also Required on a Tow Dolly When Using a Roadmaster Wheel NetIf you used a Roadmaster Adjustable Wheel Net # RM-2150 on both of your front wheels you would not necessarily need to use safety chains as these will provide an additional attachment point to the wheel chocks that are on the tow dolly already.
