Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Taylor Made four foot long dock and post bumper for a quantity of one. This bumper is designed to protect your boat from being damaged by your dock or your dock post. Can be installed horizontally on your dock just like this, or vertically on your dock posts. Does have a nice polyester cover all the way around it with a closed cell foam inner cushion.
And it is flexible enough to mount on curves or around corners. Provides coverage wherever you need it. And it will not deteriorate in the sun or mar your boat. Does clean very easily with soap and a brush. On each side, you can see they have these flexible tabs, which will allow standard top of the dock mounting or unique fold over mounting that conceals the top row fasteners.
I am going to demonstrate both those mountings. The tabs do measure about one inch wide.So what we're going to do, is I happened to pull a example. This is a two by eight piece of wood, which would be, let's say your fascia on your dock, and then what I want to demonstrate here, let's just zoom in a little bit. So what we talked about the first method is the top of the dock method. So what that is, is you'll position the bumper with this rounded cushion portion facing upward.
So you just lay it on the top here with the tab on there. And then the seam is between the tab and the cushion at the corner edge of the fascia and the top of the dock. And then you just basically install your fasteners right here through the tab here at the top of the dock. And then what you'll do is fold this cushion down, so this'll be installed all at the top, fold the cushion down and flush with the fascia board, and this rounded portion will face the boat surface. And then you install your fasteners through the bottom tab into the fascia board. So you should have your fasteners up here, this up against the fascia and then your fasteners down there.
Now the benefits of the top of the dock method like this, is you'll get greater downward tear strength, and of course, more protection for top and corner of the dock for boats that have greatly sloped hulls. The other method is the fold over method. And basically what that is, you position the bumper against the fascia board like that, upside down with the rounded cushion facing away from the boating surface, resting flush on top of the dock, and then you install these fasteners through this lower tab, into the fascia board. And then what you'll do then, is after that's installed, you'll just fold this over. It's a little hard to demonstrate, but it'll fold over just like that. Your tab will be underneath. The fasteners will be holding it. So it covers those top fasteners. You fold it down over the tab, and now the cushion surface faces the boating surface, and then install your fasteners on that bottom tab. The benefits of this fold over method, the top fasteners won't damage the boat because they're underneath the cushion. There's no fasteners or bumper on top of the dock so you don't trip on it. And the bumper is even with the top of the dock for full protection. Now to install this on a vertical post, all you have to do is put it this way and then put your fasteners right through these tabs here, hold it into place. So that's just a couple of different ways to mount it to your dock. Now this is a single bumper design. It offers standard protection. It does measure four foot long. Measures five and a half inches wide. The inner foam piece will measure three and a half inches wide and about two and a quarter inches thick. And this part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made four foot long dock and post bumper for a quantity of one.

The package my order came in was heavy duty cardboard. Which protected my merchandise. On a scale of 1 to 5 I give etrailer a 5.
