Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Taylor Made, four-foot long, Foam Dock and Post Bumper. Now this is a foam bumper that attaches to your dock or vertical post to help prevent damage to your boat when you're docking. This is a nice durable closed cell foam which will help absorb any impacts, and it is flexible enough to mount on curves or around corners. It does use this UV resistant, non-marring, polyester outer layer that won't fade in the sun or mark up your boat.

Now this does have the top and the bottom flaps which allow for simple installation onto the side of your dock or vertical post. The width on these mounting flaps is about one inch.Now there is two ways of installing this to your dock. The mounting hardware to install this is not included. You would have to supply that, but I do want to show you the two different ways. Let me just sort of zoom in here.

And I happened to pull a piece of a two by four here that'll give us an idea of the dock or the fascia board. And the first way is the top of the dock method. So what you would do is take this rounded cushion, face it up with the top tab like right here on the top of the dock, and then you install your fasteners along here. And then you'll just fold this down to the side. And then when you get it down there you just take the fasteners and attach this bottom tab on to the fascia board.

So basically it's mounted just like that. This type of method will give greater downward tear strength and it gives you more protection for top and corner of the dock for greatly sloped hulls.The other method would be the fold over method. And what you'll do there is position the bumper against the fascia upside down just like that with this rounded cushion away from the boat surface so your boat would be over here. And then you install your fasteners right down here and that'll hold it to the fascia board. And then what you'll do is fold this cushion down just like this after it's installed.

And when you fold it down this way, then you'll install the fasteners on this bottom tab to the fascia board. So basically with it folded over like this, this method prevents the top fasteners from damaging the boat and there'll be no fasteners or bumper material on top of the dock to kick or trip on. So you can install it either way.Now this is also designed. Let's put our piece of wood up there. This is also designed to sit flush with the Taylor Made Corner Bumper. We do sell that item separately on our website. It's part number 369CB4-20 and it is listed on this product page as a related product. Now this bumper is easy to clean with soap and water. It is made in the USA. Dimensions on this, the overall length one end to the other is four feet. The height on it is four and a half inches tall. And the thickness of it is about two inches thick.
