Notes:
The AfterParty has a hinged arm that swings 180 degrees away from the hitch with your bikes loaded, providing full access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. It also gets your bikes completely out of the way so that your SUV hatch or van doors won't bump into the bike rack when opened, like they would on a tilt-away bike rack.
To open the hinged arm, simply turn the T-handle until it's loose, pull the spring-loaded pin, and swing the rack away from the rear of the vehicle. The arm will lock into place once it's fully extended so your hands are free to open your hatch and remove cargo.
To close the rack, pull the inner spring pin and swing the bike trays back into position. The spring pin will click when the rack is fully closed. Finally, tighten the T-handle to completely secure the rack.
The AfterParty has pivoting upright arms that grab your bikes firmly by the wheel, so it won't scratch or scuff the paint. These upright arms allow you to rapidly load and unload your bikes. Simply set your bikes onto the trays and pivot the upright arms against the tires. Ratchets hold the arms in place, so once you squeeze the arms against the wheels there's nothing left to do.
To unload your bikes, you can either flip the blue levers up or press them in to release the ratchets and raise the arms up. Flip the levers back down to re-engage the ratchets.
Each arm has 4 slots to accommodate 20" - 24", 24" - 26", 26" - 27.5", and 27.5" - 29" bike tire sizes. To adjust each arm to fit your wheel size, remove the blue bolt, slide the bridge to the desired tire size, and re-insert the bolt.
The AfterParty doesn't have wheel cradles like many platform bike racks. Instead, it has wheel trays with grooves that accommodate a wide range of tire sizes from narrow 18c road bikes up to 3.0" wide mountain bikes. Because the grooves run the length of the trays, you can position your bikes exactly where you want them, rather than in a fixed location. This allows you to optimize bike spacing so your bikes don't bump into each other.
The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.
To make tilting and folding easier, the GuideRail's release lever is mounted on the front of the rack. This means you won't have to reach through or around your bikes with one hand to reach the lever, while supporting the rack's weight with the other, when lowering the rack. Instead, you'll be able to hold the rack with both hands the entire time.
The rack includes a threaded hitch pin that helps eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. A lock on the hitch pin secures the rack to your vehicle. It also includes a nylon-covered, square-link chain that secures your bikes to the rack. The chain threads around your bike's frames, through a loop on the end, and locks into the hidden core on the front of the rack. The locks are keyed alike, so you only need to use 1 key.

This 2-bike rack is perfect for carrying electric bikes and bikes with a carbon frame or custom paint job. It swings away from the rear of your vehicle 180 degrees with bikes loaded for full cargo access. Tiered trays prevent bike-to-bike contact.I just went with this myself, and I think it's just about perfect for a Ford Transit. I will attach some photos, but what makes it such a nice fit is that the handlebars are far enough away to not hit the back, the swing arm is enough to open back doors (with one comment I will make later). Very quick and easy to secure bikes. Also, the only place it grabs your bikes is the tires, so no damage anywhere else. (This does mean that it will not work with many rear fenders. But it would work with the "mudflap" style of a mountain bike)
The swing away will allow both doors to open. However, if you still have bikes on the racks the door will not quite hit the detent that keeps the passenger side open. The handlebars will just barely interfere. In this can I either hold it open, or remove the bikes.
It also comes with an overkill lock that's very easy to use.
As you might guess, the rear parking sensors are not operative, so I do have to disable them every time I reverse. Heres a selection of photos I just took. Still snow here in Minnesota!
Works great, Easy to secure bike on and to take off rack. Small problem, weather cover for lock does not stay in closed position. The lock to secure ramp to receiver hitch is poor quality. I purchased a much better locking pin from Amazon
Heavy AF and would drop in the outboard position...had to lift a needed to close. The positioning pins/latch mechanisms were sketchy...sold it after a few months.
I expected a great product and somehow was still impressed! I'm coming from 5 years with my RockyMounts Monorail which has remained solid here in the salty NorthEast roads (with minor lube and cleaning). I wanted a swing-out for a while now so that i could fully utilize my bed drawers when camping. The ease of use and build quality on this rack is everything I had hoped for. Installation took about 15 minutes.
Pros:
- Easy to use for loading/unloading bikes compared to the 1UP system where you definitely need two hands at all times
- Easy to use swing-out feature with double locks for added security
- Fantastic fit and finish all around
Cons:
- My rack came with three small nicks on it from the shipping process. RockyMounts should revise the packaging so this doesn't happen to other customers. I'll email them
- The screw-in lock for the swing-out works well but I believe a latch system would be much easier (similar to the Kuat swing-out)
- No decals/branding? When in the upright position there isn't any branding of the rack. It's all just plain black. A white "RockyMounts" decal would look great!
See attached videos for fitment on a 2020 Toyota Tacoma using a Kuat Hi-Lo 7" or 10" Hitch Extender. It clears the tailgate by about 4mm in the 7" extension! If this is too close for comfort, you can extend it to 10" for plenty of clearance.
Very solid and sturdy, but compact.

Still working great at 1 year. Bikes on the back for 3000 miles with no problem. I added a cargo rack to the back of one bikein my case it was wide enough for the AfterParty tire clamp to fit inside. PS: Replaced the overkill lock chain with a 4 ft long 5mm cablefits in the receiver perfectly.
