Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement rear cradle for the Yakima Sidewinder roof-mounted bike carrier. Now this kit here will include one cradle assembly to replace a lost or damaged cradle assembly on your Yakima Sidewinder roof-mounted bike carrier. Basically this will attach to the rear upright arm of the carrier frame, and it holds the bike's boom tube to the carrier. Now it does hold it in place with two ratcheting straps. Now the ratcheting straps are not included.
One goes in here and one goes in here. Those ratcheting straps we do sell separately on our website just to pop up an insert. That's what one of those straps looks like. We do sell those, it's part number Y8820111. But again, this would attach to the bike carrier and then you lay your boom tube of your bike in here and then put your straps, pull 'em tight to hold it into place.

Thanks -- I feared these would go out of stock. Having one is essential for my Sidewinder and I have broken two in 15 years. But the parts are as originally designed, manufactured and will keep me going for another 15 years or more.

I've had problems breaking the locking clips on the ends of the cradle and this is the second replacement cradle I've ordered from etrailer in the last 5 years. Love the tandem rack, but clips are a poor design by Yakima, but I always get the right replacement from etrailer and it always fixes the problem.
