Hello neighbors, welcome back. I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at this replacement SKS or same key system lock core for your Yakima racks and carriers. Now, this guy is keyed to A140. You can kinda see that etched on the top there, A140. Now, this will replace or add one Yakima SKS, again, same key system lock cylinder, to your Yakima system.
Now, this basically will allow you to have all your Yakima products keyed alike. Again, this fits key number A140. These are sold on our website in sets of four, six, or eight. Now, this is just, again, the lock core. There's no keys or anything besides just this core.
So this basically it would change one of your other ones that you already have to this key number. Now, to change out these lock cores, you simply insert the Yakima change key tool, which just looks like a key blank more or less, but you do have to have this cylinder unlocked and the old one unlocked to change them out. You simply insert that change key into the key slot. You'll rotate it left or right depending on how it is and pull it out and it'll come out with that change key tool and then you simply insert the new one. Once you insert it in place and lock it, it's not going nowhere.
So very simple design, very simple to change out. Again, this is just one replacement SKS core for the Yakima racks and carriers keyed to A140. I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Thank you so much for watching. I hope this information's been helpful for you.

i had lost the key to my Yakima car top carrier( which I had purchased used,earlier from an individual.
I like my Yakima car top carrier very much and would recommend it. It is sturdy and durable, easy to attach to the car and open from both sides for ease of loading and unloading. (However, I am currently unable to get one side to unlock)
Overall,very good quality. I would choose Yakima again as my preference for a car top carrier.
