Video Transcript for Yakima Roof Bike Racks Y02113 Review

Today we're going to be taking look at the Yakima fork adapter for bikes with 15 millimeter by 110 millimeter boost 3-axle forks. As you can see for our demonstration today, I went ahead and installed it onto a roof-mounted bike rack. The convenient adapter is going to let you transport a 15 millimeter 3-axle bike on a fork mounted bike rack. Very simple installation. It does not require any additional tools or hardware. When it comes to the installation, it's very quick and easy.

I'm going to go ahead and remove it, that way we can talk about some other key features of the adapter. Now again, this is going to let you carry your 15 millimeter by 110 millimeter boost 3-axle bike setup. On most fork-mounted bike racks with a 9 millimeter quick release skewer. It's going to attach to your ax, 9 millimeter quick release skewer. It's much easier to install this adapter onto your bike first and then install your bike onto your bike rack. Nothing really changes with the installation.

Once you have this adapter installed on your bike, you simply load the bike onto your bike rack just like normal. Now to help increase some security, we recommend using a cable lock to deter theft of your bike, something like part number Y07233 would be a great option. This adapter's made from a steel construction. It's going to feature a black, powder coat finish, which is very strong and durable. It's also highly resistant to rust and corrosion. It does feature the built-in safety tabs, located on each side of the adapter for additional security.

This is going to have a carrying capacity of one bike. When it comes to the dimensions, taking a look at the over all length. From outer edge to outer edge, including the safety tabs, it's going to measure about 4 1/2 inches. Inside to inside is going to be right on 4 inches. When it comes to the height, that's going to measure right around 4 inches tall, and then the width at the thickest point is going to be about an inch and a quarter. The other height measurement that I want to mention is from the top of the adapter to the top of this area right here, as if it was setting on the skewer on the bike rack.

It's going to extend above the skewer by about 3 3/16 of an inch when it's fully installed. This is also covered with a limited lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at the Yakima fork adapter for bikes with 15 millimeter by 110 millimeter boost 3-axle forks.

This fits perfectly on my new 15mm x 110mm forks and on my Thule Circuit rack.

Fantastic. It has held up great. Minor scuffs that are normal for the use. Usually around the attachment points.

Fast delivery. My new bike required this adapter for the bike rack. Other online outlets were out of stock...not etrailer. Fast delivery had me on the trail with my bike by the weekend.

I needed this product to adapt my plus bike with boost spacing 110 mm. to fit on my rack 100 mm. spacing . Works well . I know have two of these (other for my fat bike ) . The instructions say to attach to fork first , but I like to attach to rack first . IMO it is easier to place the bicycle on the rack this way .

Great product. Easy ordering process, fast delivery. Installation was a snap with links to videos online for review. This product is a must for anyone that may have their hands full while accessing the truck bed.

by:

Basic product, that solves an industry shortcoming in engineering and long term planning. Way too expensive for $1 of material. Using it becauseI am forced to not because I want to.

by:

Quick service and communication. Got just what I needed in a timely manner. I'd definitely use this site again!

  • How Can I Carry 50lb Ebikes On The Roof Of My Car
Your ebikes weight is one of the limiting factors in carrying them on the roof of your vehicle. The Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier - Fork Mount, part # Y02098, has a weight limit of 40lbs. But if your roof rack has crossbars with a channel my recommendation would be the Inno Fork Lock Roof Bike Rack - Fork Mount - Channel Mounted - Aluminum, part # INXA391. It is a fork mounted rack that attaches to the channel of your crossbars. It has a weight limit of 50lbs and locks your...
