Video Transcript for Swagman Hang It Floor to Ceiling 2 Bike Hanger Review

Hello neighbors. It's bread here at etrailer, and today I'm taking a look at the Swagman floor to ceiling two bike storage, the hang-it. So this is gonna be a great option for anyone looking to store their bikes in an upward fashion without having to do any drilling. It's all adjustable up to nine foot of ceiling. So that's going to cover a lot of garages, maybe you have a walk-out basement, you need to store it down there. It's gonna really open it up.

Now the minimum is gonna be six foot, so you do have a little bit of room to play with. These are fully adjustable. That way you can account for kind of a rake back frame, like my bike here, or an odd shaped frame, like my daughter's bike up here, and this is going to be awesome for getting things up off the ground and making my garage space more usable and my bikes more ready to ride when I need them. We're here in my actual garage. And as you can tell, I have a little bit of an organization problem.

And a lot of that is because I don't have a ton of space and moving things up off the floor is really gonna help gain space, so my wife can park her car in the garage during winter. I love the customisability of this rack and a lot of times people say, well, you're just storing your bike. Can't you put some hooks up Well, once you mount your hooks, you're kind of limited in the fact that you're kinda, you're there, you don't have a whole lot of adjustability. And as you can tell, I have a 29 inch wheel tire and then a 16 inch. So you're kind of getting the two spectrums and this is able to hold both of them with no problem.

So having the adjustability on this is gonna be really nice. It's also going to be nice and sturdy. So I don't actually have to drill into any of my studs, which is great. So it should be pretty easy to set up. So, let's take a look at how it actually works.

So I have the hang it out of the box and I had the feet here that simply screw in. You have one side that screws in counter-clockwise and one that goes in clockwise, and that's gonna allow you to not only get this to height, but also get that fine tuning tightness by just spinning it. So pretty easy. I have the storage part of the bar up top that way we can get the bikes up and I have it spaced out little from the wall and that way I can still put my clips in for the actual bike cane. So pretty easy. Just push down and I'm gonna put my foot down on the pad, and I'll extend this up to the ceiling, pretty tight. And let's get that to clip right there. And so since I'm pretty close, really, all need to do now is rotate this. I'm gonna try to get that foot straight. There we go. And just rotate this and I can feel it actually tightening up. So I have it extended, and my ceilings here are a little bit over nine foot, and that's going to be the max on this. So to account for that, I'm gonna put just a little 4 by 4 here, and that's going to give it that extra space to really tighten up so bringing this back down. So to get these to spin, I just kind of put a little pressure up on it. So I push up and then just turn this counter-clockwise and this is tightening up pretty well. So as you can see, I'm pulling on it and it's holding in place. Now this is rated for 35 pounds per bike, and well I'm using children's bikes. So it should be just fine. But also I have two bikes of my own. I'm very curious to see how they work on that as well. So, first thing we have this in place. I want to grab my clips for the actual bike hanging, and this is very adjustable. So this is gonna be good for some of your odd shaped frames on your bikes. Sometimes they get a little funky when trying to hang them up. As my full suspension bike sits it up very awkward angle because of the frame. And this is going to account for that because you can actually adjust it. Now, the clips are nice. You have these little half moon shapes here that goes into the grooves on the clip, nice little turn knob to tighten this down. So we'll just kind of put one at this spot right here, and I can kind of fine tune adjust for the bikes later. So once that is tight, you also have tension control here. So, you know, you can play around with that angle. So that's nice. You can hang the bike on here. You can adjust these padded arms, which that's going to be nice. It's not going to scratch your frame and you can kind of naturally let the bike, hang, see where it's at and tighten that down. So let's give it a shot. So my girls have 16 inch bikes and the frames are both kind of odd shapes. So as you can see the bikes wanting to actually tilt back, well, that's the great part about this is I can actually set this to where it's gonna be level or close to it or in a good spot for the bike to hang. And then once I'm there, simply tighten this down. So once you get your little carriers here on the frame where you want it, you can go back with a four millimeter Allen wrench on both sides, and these are not included in the kit, but once you have that set, you can go ahead and tighten that down. And that's going to keep this in this spot. So here we have both the bikes actually hanging up. It's doing an awesome job of making sure that they're secure and up out of the way. Now, a lot of times my wife will get the bikes out for the girls. So I'm going to lower these down and that's kind of nice the adjustability to kind of custom fit what you need. So let's see if I can get it in reaching range. So really easy. We're just going to simply loosen this, loosing this a little bit and we're just slide this down. Looks like it maxes out at that phone, but it's at a good level there. We can get this kind of back in space. Now, another thing I've noticed is since this isn't wall-mounted, so I have other bikes that are wall-mounted and I've noticed that the handlebars, a lot of times we'll keep the tire from being able to sit parallel with the wall. Now I get that sometimes because the handlebars can stick out, but where this is, level-wise when we have a car parked in here and we're trying to bring groceries in or whatever it may be, that tire can get in the way. So the fact that this isn't actually mounted, I can move this out to get these handlebars to go straight and have my tires parallel. I think this is going to be the final setup that I go with. It's up off the ground, which I'm really happy with. It's against the wall. It's not causing any interference with anything, and I've saved myself a lot of space. It's still at a level that they should be easy to take down and the girls can ride. So overall, easy success, easy setup, pretty good quality overall to the fact that you have adjustability to account for a kid's bike like this. It's pretty awesome. So if you're looking for a quick way to store your bikes going up, and maybe you have a bunch of different styles of bikes that you need to kind of adjust for. This is going to be a great option. And that was a look at my new Swagman hang-it, two bike floor to ceiling storage for my bikes in my garage. I appreciate you joining me on this, and I hope this could be a good solution for you to store your bikes in your garage..

I ordered this at the same time as a bike rack and they all came in the same box. The box that this was in looked like it had taken a beating during shipment (it was under the bike rack box) and one of the plastic knobs had been broken. I called etrailer and they contacted Swagman and they shipped a replacement knob rather than having to go through repacking and shipping back. This has freed up some floor space in our garage! 2 bikes are off the floor and stuff fits under them!

Worked perfect for our 2 bikes in my garage freeing up space. Extremely simple install. Took about 2 minutes and is easily movable if I ever want to change its location.

Fast delivery. Product is as advertised. Or works well with our bikes. 4 stars just because it wobbles a little even though it seems sturdy.

This is a great product. I have it mounted in my bedroom and it has truly given me peace of mind and a awesome way to store my bikes.
