Hello, neighbors and friends. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a Replacement Key for your Thule Racks and Carriers, keyed to N2856. I know what you're thinking. "Steve, how do I know which key I need" Well, pretty simple, actually. Look at your Thule rack or carrier, the lock core itself, usually to the left or right of where you insert that key, you'll see an engraving on the front face of that core.
Just simply write down that number. Match it up with the key that you need. Now, zooming in on this key here on the table, you can see the engraving there, 2856, and that's gonna be the key that matches up lock core N2856. Again, you get one key with purchase. If you need more than one, just change the quantity to however many you want.

I never dreamed I could locate a set of keys for my Sears luggage carrier so fast but etrailer had them, and shipped them that nite. If you need a specialty item you should try them. The keys worked great. If I went to the maker it may have cost me big.

Product is working great. Got more than I asked for.
After purchasing a luggage carrier for the top of my vehicle, I discovered the key to the locks was missing. etrailer.com provided superior customer service. I am moving and have a Thule/SportRack shell for my SUV. I hadn't used the keys in 2 years and lost them or packed them in preparation for moving. I knew I needed to use the key in 9 days so I ordered a replacement key. That's when things got complicated.
Both Kat and George immediately started corresponding with me to let me know the key was not in stock. They worked with me to change my shipping options and reorder the key so the manufacturer could get them the key which they could then send to me using expedited shipping. In the end, I paid for 2-day shipping and the product arrived with still 4 days to spare. Also, I was never in doubt about the status of my order since I received both personalized and automated updates on the status of my order.

The key worked to unlock the cargo carrier which was great but it is not perfect. It is an older sears xcargo box and the key works one percent of the time. You really need to jiggle and slide it on and out a lot to make it work. Not sure if it is the key cut or the locks that are the problem. Since it opened it I just went ahead an ordered the new cylinders. Did not want to get stuck locked while traveling. Still glad I ordered it and was able to open the box

Picked up a Sears sport 20 sv roof top carrier for $20 at a yard sale, but it had no key. So I figured that I would have to replace the lock assy. To my surprise a 2 minute online search brought me to Etrailer and a replacement key for only [a few dollars]. Thanks Etrailer
Key worked. Arrived before it was supposed to. I bought a cargo container at a garage sale for 20 $ A [key] from etrailer the OEM racks for my wife's [car] and boom. I got a 600$ system for only a few hundred. And didn't have to replace the locks ;-)
I rescued an X-Cargo Sport 20 Cargo Pod from the dumpster. It was completely intact with all of the mounting hardware sans a wing nut and no keys. I did some research on the pod and found several corroborating sites of what key I needed. Turns out it uses keys made for Thule products. Since I needed to get a wing nut and turns out you carried it, I would also get keys from you as well.
The keys work fine and I have a nice cargo pod, which will be real handy for an upcoming road trip.

We purchased it about 10 years ago. It came with 2 keys and we lost one.
Recently, we went to a locksmith to have keys made, he was unable to locate a blank and IF he had found one we would have paid way more than $5 a key. We even considered replace the lock mechanism.

Key was a perfect fit! Found a sears x cargo sport 20 carrier on the side of the road for free and picked it up. However it was lock and had no keys.
