Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a really quick look at the replacement M6 x 50 carriage bolt for Thule carriers. So, this is going to replace many of the bolts that come with or. It's going to replace this bolt for many of the Thule carriers including the Thule Flat Top Ski carriers, part numbers TH92724 and TH92725. Also, the Hull-A-Port Pro, part number TH835PRO and the Thule M.O.A.B., the TH690XT. So, that's a rooftop cargo carrier. The Hull-A-Port is a kayak carrier, and then our flattop ski carriers obviously carry our skis and snowboards.So, this is going to be that bolt that goes in and keeps our attachment point secure on our vehicle.
It's going to keep everything tightened down. Does have the carriage heads that has that little square shoulder on it to drop down through a square hole and keep that secure, so our bolt doesn't turn on us as we tighten down the nut on the other side. This is an M6 x 50 carriage bolt. So, basically that 50 refers to the number of threads per inch and M6 is the size.So, if we measure from the top down, this bolt is two inches long. And in imperial it's about a quarter of an inch in diameter.
The head of the bolt is about five eighths of an inch in diameter and that's just for reference there, just so you know.Now, if you need any other replacement parts for any of your Thule items, you can always check etrailer.com and find all of those other original items here as well. Works on many different Thule carriers including: Thule Flat Top Ski Carriers (TH92724 and TH92725), and Thule Hull-A-Port PRO (TH835PRO).Needed longer bolts to install the Thule 839 Get-A-Grip to my mk6 VW GTI factory racks. The bolts provided are 40mm, and these 50mm bolts provide enough length for a solid attachment, while not jeopardizing clearance for my paddles.
Bought these as replacements for cracked and aging mounting hardware for my existing ski racks. Everything came exactly as ordered and fit great on my roof racks. Price with shipping was less than buying directly through Thule! It was really helpful to be able to shop by Thule part number. I actually found this site by googling the part numbers I needed.

I was so glad to find these replacement bolts for my Thule 727 ski carriers. My original bolts were very rusty and needed replacing, and etrailer's very reasonable shipping charge made my decision easy to purchase them here.
Good replacement bolt, but make sure you get new wing nuts to go with it.
Review is more about the customer service. I ordered the wrong bolt length, needed 80mm but ordered the 50mm. I called and they immediately shipped out the correct length. I should have called in the first place. Thank you Carol & Co.

It's a bolt. It fits as advertised. What more can be said? My old bolts rusted and I am sure these will too but I am being careful to grease them up before installation now.
