Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the replacement wheel shaft assembly for Thule bike racks. Now, this replaces one strap assembly for the Thule Echelon Double Track and Big Mouth roof mounted bike racks. It simply installs in the T-track of the carrier wheel tray. It does come with the wheel strap, and you got the control tab right here. It's very easy to operate. Once you have it installed, I do want to point out that most of the unit is a plastic construction, but it feels very strong and durable.
The connection rivets right here are metal, as well as the buckle itself, that's a metal construction. So it does have a nice, strong, durable design.To release the strap you pull in on the control knob, or push in, and that'll release the strap from the holder. With it installed, and with your bike on there, you would place this through the wheel, feed it into the buckle, and then you can hear it clicking. Every time it clicks, it engages, and obviously that would be in the up position, as you feed that through. Then once you have it snug, you push this down, and it further secures the strap into the transport position.
Then again, when you're ready to release it, you can lift that up, push in on the tab, and remove the strap from the holder. That's gonna do it for today's look at the replacement wheel strap assembly for Thule bike racks.

The part arrived when eTrailer said it would. Over all, a good transaction.
Whenever I need a product or part, I turn to etrailer.com. This recent purchase fixed a need to restore an old roof rack to carry my bicycle. Seems to fit Thule Prologue (and older Thule) trays as well. Doesn't include rubber wheel rim pad supplied with earlier model straps.

Still works fine.
Just a few days before we were to leave for a trip out west with our bikes on our Thule cartop rack, I foolishly drove through a drive-up window at a fastfood restaurant -- the result was that one of our bikes was ripped from the cartop rack. Fortunately the bike was undamaged, but the Thule wheel strap assembly for my rack was destroyed, rendering my rack unusable. I tried REI and they didn't stock the part, then I tried Thule and they couldn't get the part to me before my departure. Etrailer had the part in stock (at a lower price than Thule) and shipped it to me second day air. Everything worked out beautifully and we're now out west, enjoying our biking, which would have been impossible without etrailer's great service and inventory. Thank you.
Thanks for stocking Thule replacement parts. They are hard to find at retail stores. Thule is a bit pricey, but good quality.
I ordered these along with the wheel trays to build a custom bike rack on the frame of our motorcycle carrier. It was great to find a place that would list and sell these components which allows creativity for us handy people.

While this is a perfect replacement for the thule piece I had that rusted out ( after about 10 years) . I've found that this one has started to rust out in just a year.
It is the ONLY replacement I've found, and at a great price, so it works great.
If need be , I'll be buying all new ones next year.
( as you can see the other parts are rusting as well,,, but same goes.. only replacement I could find.. so I'll buy those in a year also )
Your service is amazing. The product is ok However, I would never buy that bike trailer again because the replacement parts are way too expensive. Thule parts in general have a short life span. Läst Thule purchase fir me ever!!!
Perfect drop-in replacement for my bike rack's straps which broke under abnormal circumstances. Fits and functions without any issues at all. etrailer support was very friendly and helpful throughout the exchange.
They have obscure little parts. Ordering is easy and good check out and shipping. Should be your go-to for roof rack, hitch, whatever. Just do it and don’t worry about it.
Product is fine. Not the same quality as the older Thule straps, but everyone is making everything cheaper these days, and charging more for the cheaper product.

Works exactly as advertised, fit my old thule rack perfectly. Would buy anything from this site as the customer service is off the charts.

Original part from Thule to replace one on a bike rack that we are rehabilitating
These things can be hard to slide back and forth on the wheel trays but otherwise they work great.
the replacement strap arrived on time, and it was the right item. Wish they were designed a little more rugged. My last one broke one of the rivets holding it together, and it wasn't that old. So, not the best quality. I think being extra careful when clamping them down, making sure they are straight, could help them last longer.
The bike tray wheel straps are just what I needed. Thanks etrailer for the great service and pricing!

This wheel strap assembly works great. It is easier to use than the one that came with my bike rack.

New ones feel much better and more solid than old ones I have on my first gen Big Mouth bike rack. I wanted to replace them because the metal parts all rusted.
