How To Create Bike Mounts for the Floor of a Trailer

Question:

Hello, my wife and I recently purchased a recumbent tandem trike. We have had a trailer made for the bike. The bike is about 10 -11 feet in total length. There are two tires up front and a single tire in the back. My plan is to mount the bike to the trailer. I am thinking of using some type of tire tray and clamp system to hold the 3 tires in place. I was planning on using 3 12” pieces of either Yakima or Thule tray and then 3 clamps to hold it in place, but when looking on the website I couldn’t seem to find what I was looking for, because there are so many different types of rack parts to choose from. Do you have a suggestion of a tray with wheel clamps that I could cut down to make 3 separate wheel holders about 12” long.? Included a picture of the tandem recumbent

I have a great option for you which consists of the following parts.

Replacement Wheel Tray part # 853-7628 (1)
Replacement Wheel Strap Assembly part # 753-3001 (3)
Replacement Tray End Cap part # 853-7629 (6)

The tray is 47" long so you could cut this down into three 12" sections. Once this is done you can bolt these sections to the floor of your trailer and then use a wheel strap on each of these. The end caps can then be used for a clean look.
