Today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster 10" Safety Cable Extensions, these are going to extend the length of your towing system without having to buy new safety cables. The extensions are going to add an extra 10" so you can use Hi-Low Receivers Hitch Extensions and other accessories. It's going to come with both cables and 2 quick links. These are going to have a capacity of 8,000 pounds, the cables are a braided steel construction then they have the vinyl coating over the center area right here. The coating's going to help keep the cables from scratching any component of your towing setup and then the cable portion right here with the vinyl, that's going to have a diameter of around 3/8". The quick links, that's these right here, these are made from a steel construction with a zinc finish to resist rusting corrosion.
They do feature the threaded connected for easy connecting and disconnecting. That can be done by hand or you could use a wrench. This will accept a 5/8" wrench or a 15mm wrench. A few measurements that I want to give you real quick regarding the quick link, if we take a look at the overall length that's going to measure about 3 3/16", 3 1/4" right in that area. If we measure the overall width to the outer point there of the barrel, that's going to give us a measurement of about 1 9/16" or 1 5/8" right in that area. The opening that we have right here that's going to give a measurement of about 3/8".
I do want to point out that the diameter of the link right here is going to measure 3/8" but the threaded portion has a slightly larger diameter that's going to measure about 7/16" or a 1/2". Now we'll take a look at the internal dimensions, so the usable space that we have there on the inside, it's going to be about 2 1/2" inches measuring right below that barrel the usable width, it's going to be about 3/4" and then to the barrel on the flat side is going to be about 5/8". The units are really easy to use, the cables are a nice, strong design, strong connection points, vinyl coating, braided steel. A nice, strong, dependable unit and again from the inside edge of this loop to the same point on the other side, that's going to give the 10" extension or 10" length of each cable. That's going to do it for today's look at the Roadmaster 10" Safety Cable Extensions.

Includes quick links for easy hook-up.I got these to install as part of my 2011volt hitch install. etrailer showed the use of right inch extensions, I went with the 10 inch to go over the top of my hitch to protect my bumper cover in the case of an emergency hitch ball failure.

I added a dual socket hitch and therefore needed extensions for my safety cables. Your extensions worked great and delivery was quick
These work great and kept me from having to do any modification to the tow chains on my camper. They are rated appropriately and have held up nicely to the environment. (I stow them under cover once I get to where I am going).
Safety chain extensions worked out fine for me. They allow me to use my long hitch, and this allows me to lower truck tailgate while the trailer is attached. I could not lower the tailgate the whole way without them.

very satisfactory
My tear drop trailer hitch is real short, Got your 8” hitch extender and used my old hitch, 2” ball and now I can open my tail gate on my 150 ford the trailer weights 1000, lbs and has 350 tong at. Now it tows a lot better and can back up easier and my safety chains extenders Work perfectly, Thank and other good job, great part and thanks for caring about how your products work thanks !
Wanted to add cables from the removable arms to the frame mounted baseplate on my tow hitch. These were the right size. I added a clip to the other end. Just a little extra piece of mind
Fast and professional follow up for tracking etc.
These extension cables should work very well for me. When I added a brake to my tow set-up, it made my original cables shorter. I only towed a few short trips before deciding to get extensions. Just have to wait for the season to start again.
The Thule canoe rack is a no brainer, as with all of their products. Our canoe only weighs 15# so this keeps it very tight on the roof rack.
Product works as described. Allows me to extend my tow safety chains.
These look to be well made and will work very well because my camper safety chains are too short to cross under the trailer tongue with my new larger truck.
