Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today, we're looking at this replacement trunnion and pin for the Reese trunnion style weight distribution. Now, if you aren't familiar, this is what the trunnion bar looks like. And again, this is just the trunnion and pin part of that kit. Now, getting into it again, this is a replacement trunnion for the Reese 1,200 to 1,700 pound spring bars and the trunnion style weight distribution in that weight range. It does make a bar.
It fits a bar thickness of one and 3/8 inches, so that bar would slide in here. The pin that's included will go through the bar, and it would get hammered in place into this trunnion to hold it in place. So very simple installation, a very simple part, a direct replacement by Reese from Reese, and it's even got everything stamped in here as well. So again, folks, that's gonna do it for our look at this replacement trunnion and pin for the Reese trunnion style rated at 1,200 to 1,700 pound spring bars. I'm Steven.

Replacement Trunnion for Reese High Performance Trunnion Style Weight Distribution
The part itself looked very nice. Unfortunately, once the old bar was attached the angle of the bar off the trunnion is different enough compared to my original trunnion, which would be from sometime before 2012, that the old and new are incompatible. One would be on the friction hanger and the other wouldn't be close. I repaired the slightly cracked one and I'm holding the new one for an emergency. At that point I would buy another newer trunnion and then have a matched set.
No good deed goes unpunished. The moral of the story, Don't ever loan your trailer. How does a person loose this? A very difficult part to locate. etrailer to the rescue, had it in stock and got it to me, thanks.
Good product, shipped fast. My original trunion end cracked on the top starting at the corners, the area stressed the most by the natural action of the bars pushing up. The replacement trunion end was an exact match except for the area that cracked, the new end had twice as much material on the "flange". It appears I'm not the only person to have the cracks form and it looks like someone has taken the time to redesign the part to help prevent another failure. Five minutes with a hammer and punch to remove and install the roll pin and we were back on the road in no time! Thanks for providing a replacement!

The replacement trunions fit perfectly on my existing bars and the new hitch body - at a fraction of the cost for a new hitch!!! Very pleased with product, price and service!! Thanks Amy!!!
Products were ordered to replace existing worn out components. Exact replacement parts were much cheaper than replacing the entire set up. It took over a month to ship though...
I just about couldn’t believe you could buy just the trunnions for the spring bars. So glad I didn’t have to replace the whole bar.
