Today we'll be taking a quick look at the Peterson base for the 169 LED clearance lights. This is just a black rubber piece that's going to be the backing for your Peterson lights, kind of finishes up the look of those lights and provides a little extra protection to the back. We'll have two holes to allow the hardware to go through and then another slotted hole to allow the wires to come out.So if you see one of the Petersen lights, this is the amber one, part number 169A, just fits right into our base and again this is pliable so you can just kind of stretch it around the light and then push it to fit. Then it also fits 169R, which is the red light here. So the wires can just go through the backing. They both have a ring terminal already attached and it might look like the hole is too small, but again it's pliable so we can just push that through that slotted opening and then follow that with our black wire. Wire's through and again just kind of squish it into place. So it really just finishes the look of the light, makes it a little bit more neat, just kind of makes it look more deliberate and again provides a little bit of extra protection behind the light.
The lights themselves are sealed with an epoxy for those diodes, so it doesn't really need the backing to keep it watertight, it does that on its own, but I just think it looks a little nicer there. So these lights are available separately. They don't come with that base, but I just wanted to show them to you so you could get an idea of what they look like once they're installed.Overall dimensions for this base piece, it's about 4 1/4 inches long by about 4, or excuse me, by about 1 1/4 inch wide. Then from the front to the back of that little knob where our wires pop out, it's about 5/8 thick, 5/8 of an inch thick. That's going to do it for our look at the Petersen base for 169 LED clearance lights.

Good product at fair price. Would buy from again!
you have to drill a hole for the center rubber tip and wires to go through or at the least drill the hole larger.
