Today we're going to be taking a look at the panel lock slam latch cover. This cover is made from a steel construction, features a zinc plated finish, which is going to protect it from rust and corrosion. It fits slam latch part number F708-104Z, which is this latch right here. You see it goes over the spring area, holes line up perfectly with the pre-drilled holes in the latch base. That part is sold separately. It's also sold as a kit on our website.
But this is going to offer protection to the spring mechanism. It's going to give a clean finished look to the latch. Taking a look at the overall dimensions of the cover, going edge to edge this direction. It's going to measure one and 3/4 of an inch. Edge to edge this direction, it's going to measure one and 5/8 of an inch.
Then from the bottom to top measures 5/8 of an inch tall. The opening side to side measures 5/8 of an inch. Bottom to inside top edge of the opening is 9/16 of an inch tall. The mount holes on the unit side to side are separated on center by an inch and a quarter. Going this direction on center, they're separated by one and 1/8 of an inch. Each hole has a diameter of 3/16 of an inch.
