The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.We bought this hitch to replace the OEM version to increase the vertical load limit for carriers on our Model X. The factory limit is because of the quick release mechanism. It was fairly easy to install and has performed well. I guess it is to be expected that rust will eventually form on the edges of the receiver, but considering how careful I am with engagement, I feel it happened too soon. I think Draw-tite could consider at least a stainless end piece if not the whole lower square tube.
I'm sure it's going to be great once installed and loaded up with the bike rack i have for it. Two stars simply because it arrived without any padding in the box so is missing paint in numerous places. I emailed customer service with photos but ended up calling them after 24 hours and was told it travelled a long way (to Canada) so i should expect it to be damaged (?!!) etrailer reluctantly agreed to a credit towards some paint, so now i have to buy the materials then sand and paint the damaged areas before installation. Not a huge deal but a hassle that could have been saved with an extra $2 worth of packing materials. The unfriendly customer service rep also knocks off at least one star!
It fit perfectly on my 2017 Tesla Model X 75D. It took me 5 hours to install. I am far from a professional installer. Still need to test it and see how it holds up.
Product is as advertised. Shipping packaging is terrible. Box was basically destroyed. Fifty cents worth of styrofoam would solve it. Otherwise, shipped quickly.
5 stars. Easy install and a great improvement over the stock hitch.
Did not come with a standard 4 pin trailer wiring harness clamp, or any location near the hitch that could be used to land it. Hole alignment on the actual mounting plates was super loose and did not give a good sense that the unit was going to align properly. It was installed regardless it of a necessity, but I wouldn't purchase another one if I got the same vehicle.
Super easy to install and the best part did it with my son so we got our hands dirty together

Still flawless all welds are holding up no rust is forming it’s awesome
Confirmed the Draw-Tite 76143 was the correct hitch to replace the OEM Bosal hitch on our 2016 Tesla Model X 90D and ordered on July 31. DT finally resupplied in mid-September and thanks to the PHENOMENAL CUSTOMER SERVICE at etrailer.com, it was expedite shipped to me as soon as the hitches were unloaded at etrailer. GREAT communication with etrailer, BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've dealt with in a LONG time, and my body shop guys found the hitch super-easy to install.

Continues to be a fantastic and much easier hitch than the OEM Bosal hitches which come on the Tesla Model X. Ive recommended this hitch at etrailer to a number of fellow Model X owners.
Solidly built. Pretty good instructions. Only tiny OCD complaint is the secure loops for chains on my are welded on slightly crooked. A lot less fiddly than the OEM hitch; great for those of us who tow a lot.
Year later, it did what it’s supposed to do, be able to carry more than the OEM hitch. Drawback is that it’s permanent but it’s lower profile than the OEM when installed so it looks really good with the lines of the Model X. Just put on the hitch cover it looks clean. I’m glad I can use a Kuat NV 2.0 with 4 bikes and carry them with confidence. I can get where I need to be with them.
We purchased the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver to fit our Tesla Model X and carry two 60-pound, fat tire e-bikes on a Thule bike rack. I did not feel comfortable installing the custom fit hitch myself; therefore, I had my favorite body shop do the installation. With their experience and the printed directions from Draw-Tite for a Tesla installation, they had no problems. Most of all, the hitch is very inobtrusive – especially with the rubber tube cover – part no. I-728
This is overall an excellent product, at a reasonable price, with some of the most outstanding customer service and product support you could imagine. I received my tow hitch installation kit for my Tesla Model X on time and just installed it and tried it out. Shipping was fast and accurate, and everything arrived very well packaged and in perfect brand-new shape. I followed the installation instructions and installed it in just under 4 hours myself. The instructions were mostly clear and accurate. On a couple of occasions (such as the location to cut holes in the plastic undercarriage trip), measurements were off, and I wish there were more details (such as "remove plastic trunk lid bump stops"--how do you do this? Took me a half hour of google searching and watching various youtube videos, and even then I could not figure out how to get it off--but it turned out I didn't even need to remove it in the first place). In the end the tow hitch fits perfectly and is quite solid and strong. One thing I am NOT wild about is the fact that it replaces the existing metal molded bumper protector, but it does not wrap all the way around the sides like the existing protector did. Therefore, while I am confident I will have complete rear-end collision protections with this installed, it does NOT cover the area at the rear quarters of the car (in the case of a rear left or right 45 degree collision). Extensive damage to the body and delicate electrical components, especially on the left side, could result. However, it's a small area (8-10 inches at most) that is not covered on each side, so it is still a risk I am willing to take, and I am choosing to keep the trailer hitch kit installed. So far, I am quite impressed with the product and with the eTrailer team. They are VERY responsive to emails, whether customer service, purchase order, shipping, installation, or technical questions, and usually have spot-on correct answers for you in quite short notice. Highly recommend this online retailer.
Straightforward install. Works better with most trailers than the stock hitch & doesn't require safety chain extensions. Haven't noticed an efficiency drop compared to the stock hitch when not in use.
Easy to install, good instructions and after a year of using it I couldn't be happier with the product and purchase. Much cheaper than the quote I received from my local [moving company] hitch installers.

You mentioned that the hitch did not come with 4 flat harness clamp. Normally on a Draw Tite hitch it would be welded to the cross bar and because of how this installs behind the bumper it is not possible. I recommend taking a look at part # C58001 as a way of adding a 4 flat holder to the hitch.
