Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pace Edwards line of BedLocker powered hard tonneau covers. The BedLocker is a powered hard tonneau cover that opens and closes in less than thirty seconds. The tonneau cover retracts into the canister, giving us full bed access. The electric motor connects to your twelve volt battery using the included wiring harness. It features electromagnetic brakes that allows you to stop it at any point, holding it secure. This is great for covering partial loads, or if you have a fifth wheel installed, covering the rear portion of your bed.It features rigid aluminum panels, and has a black powder coat finish to prevent corrosion.
The panels feature a patented silicone weather hinge to protect your cargo from the elements. When fully closed will have a flush profile adding an attractive look to your truck. When used with a locking tailgate, this will give you complete bed security.We have a seal along the tailgate to help keep out water. The canister drain tube to prevent water buildup and leaks. It can be manually operated using the release handle in case of loss of power.
With our tonneau cover open, it takes about fourteen and a half inches of bed lay. The canister sits about twelve and a half inches deep. The rails sit in about two and a half inches, and their about a quarter of an inch above your bed rails. It features a no drill installation using clamps to hold your tonneau cover rails to your bed rails.Two key fobs are included that can open and close your tonneau cover wirelessly, and sold separately is a manual switch that can be wired inside your truck or in your tailgate. The manual switch is sold separately with part number 311-BL-1120.
Compared to folding tonneau covers, when fully open, you'll have full rear view vision. However, when fully open, this will take up more bed room space than a fully opened folding tonneau cover.Retrax has a similar powered tonneau cover that comes with an interior light, however the BedLocker has the pivot arm clamps for a more rigid rail support. That completes our look at the Pace Edwards line of BedLocker Powered Hard Tonneau covers.

I purchased 2 of these kits along with a bedlocker cover for my 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD High Country. The kit is OEM GM quality which I loved. I spent more time wiring up these kits to the truck than I did installing the cover on the truck. I used a splitter to connect both harnesses to the single accessory switch lead coming from the cover motor. I ran one harness to the back of the truck, purchased a weatherproof switch and installed it in the rear corner of the bed, at the tailgate so I can operate the cover from the back. Keep in mind, the included switch is good quality, just not weatherproof.
I ran the second harness into the cab of the truck and wired it up to my factory upfitter switches. I'm very picky about cutting and drilling holes into my vehicles, especially one as nice as this truck. The included switch would probably be fine for most, but I wanted it to look like the cover was a factory option. I purchased some extra factory style wiring harness connectors, weatherproof heat shrink, harness looming made the harnesses look like OEM GM harnesses.
So now I can operate the cover from the driver's seat or the rear, just as I can with the factory tailgate switches. Keep in mind I have the GM Multi-Pro/Multi-Flex. FYI, the included switch is a "Double throw, single pole, momentary switch" often listed like this "(on)-off-(on)" The center position and wire tab is neutral, the two outer wiring tabs are your power wires and the switch operates in either direction with just a push and release, you don't have to hold it down to operate. Pressing either direction will stop the cover where it's at.
Overall very satisfied with products and service! Maybe Pace Edwards/Leer could over this kit with either the current switch in comes with OR a weatherproof switch. Even if there was a price difference, I'm sure people would buy it. Just an idea.
Easy to install mounted it by tailgate so when you have access to truck bed easy to open or close cover without needing the remote.
Great backup for a key fob that went ex tinct.
The remote doesn’t always work. Sometimes you have to jar or push in the cover to get it to engage.

I bought the switch kit with the cover. Sometimes the cover will not move until you help it.

I have gotten in contact with the manufacturer and they have suggested that you make sure the power and ground wires are hooked to the battery. After that we’d suggest having you call in to their tech department for help trouble shooting. I have their information below: Pace Edwards 1-800-338-3697
