Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the replacement LED light module for your Lippert electric trailer jack. This is that light that comes out of the bottom or the underside of the head of your jack to illuminate what's going on, so whenever you're hooking up or disconnecting at night, you can still see what's going on around you. Something happened with that internal LED or maybe it's finally given up the ghost after so many years of service, this is going to be that replacement LED light board so you can still have that light to see what you're doing without getting a whole new jack system.So if everything else is working properly on your jack, it's just the light that's out, this is a good option to go with. It's going to have all the same features as your original light panel. It should fit right into that housing for the jack, and we'll have our electrical connections that should plug right into the original, so we'll have our ground connection here.
You'll have the wiring to plug in with the wiring and then a ring terminal to find a good ground stud and then our power connection. I'm going to power this guy up and take a little look at how bright the light is. So I've get my power going to the red wire and then my ground going here to the stud or to that ring terminal. And this is a little bit precarious just because I'm using these alligator clamps to power it on.But now that it's illuminated we can turn out the light in the studio to get a better idea of how bright it is. So not going to illuminate the night sky, but definitely gives you enough of a light to work off of and see what's going on in the dark.
It does not come with any hardware, so you will have to reuse the original hardware to mount it in place. There's two little holes in that panel to attach with a couple of screws, so should fit in there pretty well and get you back out and rolling. See what you're doing while you're disconnecting, you're hooking up. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right part for you. - How to Install Replacement LED Light on Lippert Electric Tongue Jack LC285318If the original LED courtesy light on your Lippert Electric Trailer Jack # LC285318 is damaged or defective, you can replace it with the Replacement LED Light Module # LC226027. To replace it, you would basically remove the fuse, remove the top cover, disconnect the black wire, disconnect both switch wires, replace the LED light plate (module) and reassemble. I have included all the detailed steps in the attached photo, directly from the Lippert Service Manual.

It is also not likely the switch since you mentioned the motor is good and it is getting power but you can remove it and try to clean the contacts. I suspect that there is trapped water inside the switch that is both maintaining a connection even when the switch is off and also preventing full power from reaching the light when it is switched on.
