Today we're going to take a look at the fat 15 fat bike adapter kit for 15 millimeter by 150 millimeter through axle forks on a Kuat trio roof type bike rack. Now this adapter kit will let you carry one fat bike with a 15 millimeter by 150 millimeter through axle fork, on a Kuat trio roof type bike rack. The trio bike racks we do sell separately on our website. They're part number RU01 or TR02. This kit includes this aluminum skewer adapter tube, and this nylon ratcheting rear strap extender. Basically, this rust proof aluminum skewer adapter tube fits onto your fat bike's 15 millimeter by 150 millimeter fork, and allows you to attach the bike to the trio bike rack.Basically, the trio bike rack just comes with a standard nine millimeter skewer, so all you have to do is just remove the nine millimeter skewer, install this 15 millimeter adapter and then install your fat bike.
Then on the rear what you'll do is take this nylon ratcheting strap extender, and that will allow you to secure the bike's rear wheel to the rack. Basically, the strap that comes on it isn't long enough, so what this does is this will attach to the existing strap on the bike rack, and it extends the length of the strap around your rear fat tire, and secures it to the bike rack.Just want to measure the tube on this, just to let you see that the 150 millimeter would be the length of it. So, if you look at that it's about 5.9 inches, which is 150 millimeters. And the 15 millimeters would be the interior size on this. The kit includes an aluminum adapter tube and a nylon ratcheting rear strap extender.This is a great way to transport a bike. Just bolt the dirtbag to a surface and attach the fork. I have mine mounted in the back of our minivan and regularly transport my mountain bike inside the van. The dirtbag comes in sizes to fit most fork configurations. I have a through axle for my tandem bike, 100mm for my mountain bike, and now the 110mm for my 29+ mountain bike. They all have the same hole pattern so I just swap them out depending on which bike I am transporting.
This product worked great for me. I needed something for the back of my truck and this was very versatile and allowed me to just bolt it to a 2x8 in the bed and mount my bike very securely. This price was very reasonable with fast shipping.
That mount is the perfect solution for us. Our previous bikes had the older skewer axle mount, so I had to re-drill the base to match up with holes in bed rail. FantomWorks of Velocity TV fame fabricated and installed threaded plates under the bedrail so it made the swap quite easy!

Few retailers sell the 15mm x 110mm (Boost) thru-axle mount let alone stock it. etrailer had it and sold it for less the manufacturer. Their economy shipping got it to me (Missouri to San Diego) in under a week. I didn’t want to drill into my truck bed rails so I connected to an existing tie mount via an aluminum angle (see pics). Heavy duty steel construction. This mount will definitely outlast my bike. I’m pleased with the product and etrailer’s service.

I bought this to mount my Trek Xcailbur 9 in the bed of my pick up truck. It mounted very easily on the crossbars that I purchased for my GMC sierra. It has worked very well on long trips and short trips.

I have purchased about a half dozen Kuat fork mounts over the years as axle standards have evolved. All have been of excellent quality and value. Etrailer makes them easy to buy as well.
