Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com and today we are looking at our 9mm Dummy Axle to work in conjunction with our RockyMounts DriveShaft rack truck bed bike rack. Now this will work if you need to mount a fourth axle bike, and you also want to use this pretty cool bike mount. This works with thru-axles. And with this adapter, you'll be able to mount your fork mount bikes as well.So here, we'll lift this up to release the top. And then right here, we're entering our adapter. Make sure it's in place and then close it over it.
We'll put this lever on top and close it down. Now you can tighten or loosen the lever. There, that's a good fit right there. This also locks in place with a key, so it's pretty cool because then you can keep your bike protected and locked to your truck.After removing your front wheel, you can bring your bike in and into the adapter right there. Okay, so...
With the bike in place, you can then tighten it up, not too tight, but just try to find a good balance to where it's tight right there, enough to lock it in place with this lever right over here. So you can exert just enough force. That seems pretty good. And your bike is sturdy into your mount.Here on our test course, we'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side-to-side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers.
Once we get to the alternating speed bumps, we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or a pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Now, lastly, we're going over some full speed bumps and we can see here the up and down action. And this will just be like driving in and out of a parking lot, garage, or a driveway. So we can see here how the bike rack moves with our truck.

Does exactly what it says it will do. Wish there was a way to lock them, but that would have a dramatic impact on price no doubt. Needed them for my Rocky Mounts Drop Top mounts.

Etrailer bike rack has got to be the best product I have tried for bicycle mounting hardware. The mounting rail had to be shortened to fit my truck bed. The rails and mount are very secure. This is an excellent product. Perfect for the avid cyclist that want to take a bike where ever they go!

Product works great. Not the same size as my through axcel bike so I have to change the adapter when I switch to the quick release from the blue to the black. That only takes a few seconds. Well worth the money to be able to take the quick release bikes also.

First, I love the RM DriveShaft bike mounts. They are well worth the higher cost than typical through-axle bike mounts. But, my wife still has a bike w/ QR front wheel so this little gadget makes the DriveShaft work like a conventional fork mount. It works as advertised has the same high quality as other RM products.

I bought these just for the adapter tube. I wanted to be able to use a locking skewer in my RockyMounts HM locking fork mounts. Works fine for that purpose. The included skewer seems to be of good quality, although I'm not using that part in my application.
