Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Kelty Sand Bag Stake. This is gonna be a very useful tool to have on hand in case you're ever camping in an area that has really hard ground or extremely soft ground, like on the beach, to where you can't get your stake in the ground. This is going to allow you to put up to 20 pounds of sand or rocks or whatever you have on hand in here and then you can attach it so that you kind of have a stake, even if you can't put one into the ground. And that's gonna help with making sure that if there's a lot of wind, your tent's not gonna get blown over and that sorta thing.
So depending on your setup, you might need more than one of these, but if it we're me, I would probably just use the one. I put it in the direction that the wind is coming from to kinda give you extra support to make sure that your structure is gonna have that rigidity that it needs to stay up. This is about nine inches by nine inches. You can see it is a kind of a triangle shape. It's got a zippered opening here so it's gonna be very easy to open up, put your sand or rocks or whatever you're putting in there to weigh it down inside there.
It's very, very lightweight when you don't have it filled up. It only weighs about less than a quarter of a pound, and so it's gonna be very easy to take along with you. Just roll it up, put it in your backpack as you're hiking, that sorta thing. You are gonna have a handle here that you could attach your guy lines to to get set up to your tent. Or you also have a hook closure here that's going to be a little bit more secure for you, easier to hook onto your tent supports and that sorta thing.
So it is a really nice tool to have on hand for those times when you can't put your stake in the ground, and this will give you another option to make sure that your structure is gonna be secured. Like I said, it does hold up to 20 pounds once you get it full with rocks and sand and that sorta thing, so it is gonna do a good job of helping to support your structures. That's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Typically use rocks or sand and your sand bag stakes look like the perfect solution. Easy zippered opening and lightweight for packing and travel by airline.
