Annex for 3 Person Yakima SkyRise Tents

Hey today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Annex. Now I've got it set up right here on the Yakima Skyrise three person tent, but it's also available for the Yakima Skyrise two person tent. It has all of the same features. Basically it creates an enclosure underneath your platform so you can utilize it for changing or even accessing your vehicle.You can see here how it surrounds the platform, it simply slides into the accessory channel underneath that platform. Here in the front you can see how it fits around our ladder, this is actually one of my favorite features about it. That way it doesn't block our access to our tent, we can climb up without having to open it all up.On the vehicle end here, it uses a hook and loop fastener to help keep it tight.

You can see here how it connects to that vinyl cover to keep it nice and snug and get it as close to our vehicle as we possibly can. Now as you can see on my Four Runner here, I've got a little bit of space, but it's going to work out great for most vehicles. As we follow down to the bottom it's nice and tight up against the vehicle.Here at the bottom we can use the included stakes to help secure it and provide a nice tight fit. This will just keep it from flapping around in the wind. Now, you'll notice we have various D rings here.

This is so we can adjust that height, depending on what kind of vehicle we have, so on our Four Runner here we would most likely use the second setting. Works just like any stake would, just drive it down and it will keep it tight.It uses hook and loop straps throughout the ladder to help keep it around those tubes. To access it, it's one large zipper, you can pull it up from the bottom and then we can keep it open by rolling it up and using the anchors.Here on the inside it features two windows, one on each side. Now they operate the same way as the windows do inside of our Skyrise tent. You can see here we've got some breathable mesh, that way we can let in the fresh air without letting in any bugs.

Here at the bottom they roll up and anchor in place. Just like I had mentioned before, I can easily access my door. Now depending on your vehicle and how you have it placed on your roof rack system, it might be different, so just keep that in mind. But this way you can easily access a spare change of clothes or just simply climb in your vehicle.Now here up top on each side it features a pocket, this would be great for storing wallet, keys, phone, anything like that. Maybe you've got some other smaller items you'd like to keep in there too.

Here at the very top we've got various tie down loops, these are great for hanging maybe clothes up by a hanger, or anything else you'd like to hang up.Now the whole thing is made out of rip-stop nylon, it's waterproof, so we don't have to worry about the elements getting inside. Just as long as we've got it staked down good, we can put anything we want in there. When we're all done or we choose not to use it, we can keep it in our included storage bag.
