Video Transcript for Fulton Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler FCH0201 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number FCH0201. This is the Fulton Coupler Handle for Channel Mount Couplers. You can bolt this handle onto the side of your coupler so you can easily guide your trailer where it needs to go. This is designed to work with all Fulton Channel Mount Couplers that are bolt-on applications. It's going to make it very easy to guide your trailer tongue to and from your hitch ball. Just gives you a nice place to get a secure grip. The handle itself is going to be made from a steel construction with a corrosion-resistant zinc finish.

The hand grip is made from a rubber-like material, it's going to provide an easy-grip design. It's a pretty easy installation. This simply just bolts onto the coupler using the existing bolt holes in the coupler. Now your hardware's not included so you will need to get that separately. You can see here in the handle, it's going to offer four holes. You're going to have two holes that measure the same size, these are going to be your larger holes, and then you're going to have two smaller holes that measure the same size.

Basically the smaller holes are going to be used for your couplers that accommodate a 1 and 7/8 inch hitch ball and then the larger bolt holes are going to be your larger couplers, like a 2 inch one. I have an example of each on right here. This is going to be a 1 and 7/8 inch coupler. You can see here that the smaller holes will line up with the holes in the coupler for an easy bolt-on installation. Now these holes are going to accept three 1/8 inch bolts and a distance between those, take a measurement of that real quick. The smaller ones, that's going to measure 2 and 1/4.

Here's a coupler that would accommodate a 2 inch bolt. This is SAE class 3. In that case, we would use the larger bolt holes right there. They'd line up perfectly. That set of holes will accommodate bolts with a diameter of 1/2 inch and then the distance between the larger holes on center's going to measure 3 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at part number FCH0201..

GREAT, an excellent accessary to help move my trailer around. Would recommend.

6 wks. ago I started on a refurbishing project off a 1988 Holsclaw boat trailer. I stripped all the paint off, ground and sanded the rust, primed and painted everything, replaced ALL the fasteners with stainless stell and some galvanized. I ordered several things from etrailer.com . Everything I ordered was to exact specifications and the shipping was on-time, everytime. I ordered several bearing items to repack the hubs, this coupler and nifty lifting handle, transom tie down brackets, spare tire carrier and 3 new 570x80 tires mounted on galvanized rims and the company installed stems, free of charge! I love the way this project came out and I've thoroughly enjoyed shopping @ etrailer.com! Thank you!

Cheap and works great! I installed on my 14' single axle Aluma trailer and it's much handier to grab instead of the tongue

Great quality at a good price!! I chose this over their other one that's about $6 bucks cheaper and I'm glad I did!!

This handle is absolutely perfect and it fit in a tight area for me to be able to lift my trailer tongue!!! I did need to slightly modify the holes a bit but it is perfect!!!

by:

A great addition to my Boonedox KT trailer. Installed in minutes. As always etrailer.com provided a great product at a great price with fast shipping.

by:

I wish both side were milled flat so it could accommodate mounting on either side of the coupler. Otherwise seems to be a very heavy duty handle.

by:

A perfect add on for easier coupler handling for my Aluma trailer!

by:

Works prefect for my motorcycle trailer.

by:

Product as describe. Makes picking up the front of the trailer much easier. A little tight between the trailer latch if you have large hands but still workable.

by:

Solid, beefy hardware. Simple and clean looking. Makes life easier. Got here so fast I think Scotty beamed it down to me.

by:

it is a great fit for a wood splitter, works good and quick shipping

Excellent...you can pick the trailer up with it to place the hitch onto the ball 680 lbs. motorcycle trailer. Very handy and worth the costs.

by:

Buy it, mount it, use it. It keeps your fingers out of harms way and away from where the mean spiders hang-out. Walk taller because you made a smart decision !

by:

Does it's job perfectly

  • Trailer Coupler Handle Recommendation with a Handle that Will Not Easily Slide Off
I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Trailer Coupler Grip Handle, # DL13350, to inspect the handle. The handle is plastic. It is hollow inside . It cannot be pushed around the bend in the handle, so it cannot come off that way. On the other end there is a metal lip integrated into the metal part of the handle. The inside of the plastic handle has ribs that run the length of the handle. These ribs stick down further and cannot be pushed beyond the lip. Another option is the Fulton handle,...

  • Looking for Bolt-On Handle for Moving Yard Vacuum
We actually carry handles that would work very well for that purpose. Take a look at part # C31005. I believe this handle would work much better thank the # FCH0201 coupler mounted handle you mentioned. My Curt representative tells me that the winch mount handles do not carry a weight rating. They are meant to be bolted to a winch mounting plate to make transporting the winch easier. As the heaviest winches we carry weigh up to 200 lbs, I would say they should handle at least that amount...
