All right. Today we're going to review part number F2496. The Firestone Universal Air Tank Mounting Kit. OK, these are the pieces that are provided in the kit. You got 2 brackets and 2 U-bolts. These U-bolts and brackets will clamp to the frame of your vehicle, and then your air tank will install on top of that. All right. We have a small air tank.
We could show you that just goes over these 2 studs here, then 2 nuts will go on to the inside to tighten them down. We'll go ahead and go through a typical application. First off, since we're using that small tank of only one mount, we actually only need one half of the kit. If you have a larger tank, it would have two mounts on it so you need both halfs of the kit. We're just going to use our small tank with our kit. We'll go ahead and remove the parts that we don't need. A good idea is to start off with our U-bolt, putting it into place first on the frame of the vehicle.
A kit isn't designed for any particular vehicle, just as long as you get access to the frame of the track. When you install your U-bolt, it's a good idea to go ahead and push it up alongside the frame and sneak it under any wires or lines. That's all we need to worry about for our U-bolt for now. Make sure it's not pinching anything and we'll go ahead and connect our air tank to our bracket. Let's go ahead and set our air tank into our bracket and install the hardware. There's not much room in here so you're going to have a little patience with a wrench, 9/16 size. Our air tank secured, we'll go ahead and attach it to our U-bolt. All right.
With the hardware loosely installed, we'll go ahead and tighten this down as well. This will also use a 9/16 socket. That's pretty much a typical install of our tank bracket. Finish it for our review of part number F2496 from Firestone, the Universal Air Tank Mounting Kit. .

Excellent product. If you want to cut your time on installation of an airbag system for your Tundra and you want to put the compressor on the frame, this is the product to order.
