Video Transcript for Air Lift Air Hose Cutter Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Air Lift tubing cutter, part number AL10530. Our tubing cutter is designed to cut the air lines for tubing from a 1/4 inch up to 1/2 inch in size. Our tubing cutter will allow us to get a clean square cut on the line without crimping or distorting it. As you can see the razor blade portion of our cutter is about 7/8 of an inch wide, this gives us up to and just a little over 1/2 of cutting surface making it easy to cut the 1/4 inch air line making sure we get a clean square cut on the line. Unlike the previous cut, not only is it not straight or square to the line, but it also crimped it, distorting it. By using the tubing cutter it allows us to get a clean square cut on the line without distorting it.

While it's perfect for that 1/4 inch air line, it'll also work up to a 1/2 inch hose. A little more effort it'll cut right right through it. This is getting a 5 star rating from our customers who agree that it works perfectly and is simple to use. That'll do it for our review of the Air Lift tubing cutter, part number AL10530.

Haven’t tried it yet because you shipped air bags for gmc 3500 instead of ford f350 even though I ordered the correct one

I apologize for the mistake on our part. Customer Service will be in touch to have the correct air bags shipped out.

Works great. The air line that came with the ride rite kit had obviously been cut with something that damaged the ends as they were not round so had to trim them up also.

by:

Perfect to cut airlines

by:

Ingenious tool for square cutting plastic tubing. I thought overpriced.

by:

This onboRd compressor works great! I haul a variety of items and tow a camper and horse trailer. Combining this with rear axel air bags makes it easy to level and provide stability

by:

I first purchased the Air Lift LoadLifter in an attempt to help reduce trailer sway and handling of my truck when towing my travel trailer. The far exceeded my expectations. Having the ability to get both my truck and my trailer completely level has made an enormous difference in towing. These air bags are not designed to reduce trailer sway, but being able to tow with everything level and having anti-sway mechanism is the perfect pair. I only wished I had found them earlier and there would be been several less "white knuckle" driving experiences.

by:

Worked great with nice straight clean cut, more critical though no deformation of shape so you get a tight seal.

by:

The Firestone airbags were very easy to install. The only place that I scratched my head was for the torque values for the various hardware. I eventually located it at the end of the instructions. It is common in the better auto repair manuals to list the torque ratings in the drawings. Just an idea.
Since I'm somewhat OCD when it comes to mechanical work, I always have a torque wrench in hand for the final tightening.
Your instructional videos are a real time saver. Well Done!!!
The air tubing cutter worked as advertised. Nice, clean and even cuts every time.

by:

This was my first time buying anything from etrailer.com and the experience was amazing. From easy search to many video reviews and installation videos, to the best price I could find... this is how buying online should be! Thanks!

by:

Perfect tool for an suspension air bag installation project. Perfect cuts for no leaks on the quick connect fittings.

by:

The cutter worked great with no issues. It made the installation of my air springs kit much easier and most importantly, no leaks! Would definitely recommend it to others.

by:

Worked well for Air Lift air ride helper spring installation.

by:

I used this cutter to get a clean straight cut for the air lines used on the air bags I installed on my 2015 Ford F250.

by:

Ordered this kit to level my truck when pulling the boat. Easy instructions to follow and installation was simple as everything bolted right on, total time to install was under 3 hours.

by:

Time saver. It performs perfectly.

by:

I'm very satisfied with the products and services that I received from etrailer. I highly recommend etrailer.

by:

Honestly its way overpriced, but it is perfect for cutting the air hoses without deforming the hose.

by:

It looks like it will work well for getting a square cut on the tubing, but haven't had the time to use it yet.

by:

Worked great.

Little pricey but
if your installing an air system on your vehicle it's a must have.

by:

worked as stated

by:

Works great, a bit expensive for what it is.

by:

Product works as advertised. Product alleviates the need for separate lines to the back of truck. Hreatdesign and awesome product.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again!

by:

Great service , the product was delivered on time and complete , installed and functioning exactly as advertised. I expect to order more products in the future, great job!

  • How to Find a Leak with a Firestone Air Compressor System
The issue with your air compressor kicking on each time you start the vehicle is an indication that you have a leak. The easiest way to find an air leak on your system would be to inflate the system to about 60 psi then take a bottle with a mixture of soap and water to spray down all the lines, fittings, and airbags. The air bubbles should expand once a leak is detected. If the air leak occurred at the top of the fitting then chances are the line is not seated properly or cut correctly....

  • Troubleshooting Air Lift Air Bag Kit that Leaks
Typically this is caused by the air lines not being cut squarely which allows them to leak where they attach to the air bags. What you can do though to narrow it down quickly is fill up a water bottle with soapy water and spray the entire assembly and you'll see it bubbling where it is leaking. To make cutting the air lines easy we have the hose cutter part # AL10530.

The air springs for your 2007 Chevrolet Express Van 2500 are the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000, part # AL57205. They're confirmed to fit your 2500. • Tips for Finding Leak in Air Lift Suspension Enhancement Air Bag
If you spray the air lines with soapy water typically you can see where the air is bubbling and what is causing the leak. Most of the time leaks are at where the air line inserts into a fitting. If the air line wasn't cut perfectly square it will end up leaking. I'd check there first. For a tube cutter we have the part # AL10530.

  • Compatibility of Air Lift LoadLifter Air Spring System with 5th Wheel Hitch on 2011 Dodge Ram 2500
According to my contact at Air Lift, the LoadLifter 5000 System you mentioned, part # AL57295 is indeed compatible with your 2011 Ram 2500 Big Horn with the Curt 5th wheel hitch. The system mounts to the bottom of the frame members, and therefore will not interfere with the fifth wheel install brackets. When cutting the air line tubing, it is crucial that the cuts are perfectly square to avoid air leakage. I would recommend using a tubing cutter like part # AL10530 to complete the cuts. To...

There are a couple things you'll need to drill on the frame of your 2003 Chevy Astro van to install the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59521. The first is a hole to relocate the brake-line bracket, which is just forward of the axle; you'll drill a 5/16" hole to insert a self-tapping screw to do that. Next are holes for the mounting brackets, which are three holes for the driver and passenger side - both upper mounting holes and the rear, lower mounting holes. You can also...

I have linked you to the full installation instructions for the AirLift # AL60816. The factory bump stops you referred to are cut off, to provide room for the air spring. The hole in the upper spring seat is enlarged in order to allow the hose to pass through. This is addressed on page 4 and 5 of the instructions. When installing the air bags, it is absolutely crucial that the air lines are cut perfectly square otherwise they'll leak. We recommend using a tubing cutter like part # AL10530.

Actually, the Air Lift # AL60740 can be used on 2WD or 4WD vehicles, I've confirmed this with my Tech Support contact at Air Lift. Usually, a leak occurs at points where the air line was cut to length. It's important that these cuts be perfectly square, so using a tubing cutter like # AL10530 to get nice clean cuts is very important.
