Hello everybody, this is Jeff etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the replacement brake shoes for the Dexter twelve inch by two inch, right hand side free backing drum brake assembly. Now these are the replacement primary and secondary brake shoes for the Dexter 12 inch by two inch size right hand free backing drum brake assembly. And the way you can tell which shoe is which the shorter pad shoe, which is this one right here, the pad goes from here to here. This is the primary shoe, and that always face the front of the trailer when it's installed. And then the longer pad shoe, which is this one right here, this is the secondary shoe and this will always install at the rear of the assembly.

Now this part will include everything shown here on the table. It includes the two brake shoes, the two hold down springs, and the two cups, and the two hold down pins to hold 'em in place, and the free backing design brake. It'll let you back up without engaging the trailer brake. Even if the brake actuator is activated, and the way you can tell if these are for a free backing brake, the primary shoe will always have a D shape design to it. Now we mentioned these fit the 12 inch by two inch size brake assemblies.

And what that measurement is, is the 12 inch is the diameter. So when these are installed onto your brake backing plate, the brake assembly, if you measured from this end of the shoe to this end, the diameter, it's gonna measure 12 inches. And then the two inch measurement is the actual width of the pad itself. But that should do it for the review on the replacement brake shoes for the Dexter twelve inch by two inch right hand side free backing drum brake assembly..
