Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Dexter 12 1/4 inch E-Coat passenger side hub and rotor disc brake assembly with the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern for 7000 pound axle. This trailer brake assembly will make it very easy to upgrade from drum brakes to disc brakes for better performance. Disc brakes will give you more consistent stopping, even at highway speeds, and dramatically shorter stopping distances. They are easier and less expensive to maintain. This kit here will include one full brake assembly for the passenger side of the trailer. It includes one E-coated hub and rotor assembly, one E-coated ductile iron caliper, two of the semi-metallic brake pads, one E-coated caliper mounting bracket with the installation nuts, and a little tube of thread sealant. Also includes the bearings, both inner and outer bearings, the bearing races, which are pre-installed in the hub, the grease seal, the grease cap, and the lug nuts. These parts have an E-coat finish to them to provide corrosion resistance for fresh water and limited salt water use.
The rotor itself is a vented design rotor. This helps regulate the temperature to prevent overheating. The included hub here will replace your existing hub. The caliper is a self-adjusting caliper. Ensures maximum surface contact for smooth, equal braking.
Brake pads are a semi-metallic brake pad to help resist heat and provide excellent grip. The mounting bracket . The mounting bracket is also made of ductile iron. Provides strength and durability. The mounting bracket is what makes this assembly a right-hand side application or passenger side application, because it's the location of the mounting holes which will determine what side of the trailer it goes on.This assembly will require a hydraulic brake actuator and brake lines for the brakes to be activated.
We do sell those items separately. You do want to make sure that you do get an actuator and brake lines that have at least at 1,600 PSI rating. These parts are made in the USA. Again, this fits axle of 7,000 pounds. The wheel size that will work on this is 16 inches, 16 1/2 inches, and 17 inches.
Bolt pattern again is 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Wheel bolt diameter is a 1/2 inch diameter. Rotor diameter, which is measured from this edge to this edge is 12 1/4 inches. The caliper mounting bracket has a five bolt brake flange configuration. To go through the bearings and parts here, the inner bearing, which is the larger of the two, is part number 25580, has a 1.75 inner diameter. Outer bearing, part number 14125A, has a 1.25 inch inner diameter. Bearing races, we mentioned, are all pre-installed in the hub. The double lip grease seal is part number GS-2250DL. The seal has an inner diameter of 2.25 inches, outer diameter of 3.376 inches, the grease cap, and then 8 of the half-inch by 20 size lug nuts. That should do it for the review on the review on the Dexter 12 1/4 inch E-Coat passenger side hub and rotor disc brake assembly with the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern for 7,000 pound axles.
