Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Dexter 12-1/4 inch E-Coat Passenger Side Hub and Rotor Disc Brake Assembly, with the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern for 7000 pound axles. Now this trailer brake assembly makes it very easy to upgrade from drum brakes to disc brakes, for better performance. Disc brakes will give you more consistent stopping, even at highway speeds, and dramatically shorter stopping distances, and disc brakes are easier and less expensive to maintain. This kit here will include one full brake assembly for a passenger side of the trailer. It includes everything shown here on the table. The one E-coated hub and rotor assembly, one E-coated ductile iron caliper, two semi-metallic brake pads, one E-coated caliper mounting bracket, with the installation nuts and a tube of thread sealant, also comes with the bearings, both inner and outer bearings, and the bearing races are included they are actually pre-installed in the hub, the grease seal, the grease cap, and the lug nuts. Now the finish on these parts is an E-coat finish, provides corrosion resistance for fresh water and limited salt water use. The rotor is a vented rotor design, helps regulate temperature to prevent over heating. The included hub will replace your existing hub, and they do use a self adjusting caliper to ensure maxim surface contact for smooth equal braking.
It does come with the semi-metallic brake pads to resist heat, provide excellent grip. And the mounting bracket is made of a ductile iron construction, provides strength and durability, and the mounting bracket is what make this whole assembly a right hand side application, and that's because the location of these mounting holes will determine what side of the trailer this assembly fits on.Now this will require a hydraulic brake actuator and brake lines for the brakes to be activated. We do sell those parts separate on our website. You do want to make sure the actuator and the lines you get do have at least a minimum of 1600 PSI rating. These parts are made in the USA. This is designed to fit axle capacity of 7000 pounds.
The wheel size that'll fit on this hub is a 16 inch diameter wheel, 16-1/2 inch, and 17 inch. The bolt pattern on this is an 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. The wheel bolt diameter is 9/16ths of an inch, and the diameter on the rotor itself from edge to edge is 12-1/4 inches. Now the mounting bracket, for the calipers, it does use a five bolt brake flange configuration. The bearings are all included. The inner and outer bearing. The inner bearing, which is the larger of the two is part number 25580, has a 1.75 inner diameter.
Outer bearing is part number 14125A, this has a 1/25 inch inner diameter. The bearing race we mentioned are pre-installed in the hub. The double lip grease seal, is part number GS-2250DL has an inner diameter of 2.25 inches, outer diameter of 3.376 inches. The grease cap and then eight of the 9/16ths by 18 size lug nuts. But that should do it, for the review on the Dexter 12-1/4 inch E-Coat Passenger Side Hub and Rotor Disc Brake Assembly, 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern for 7000 pound axle.
