Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Dexter 12-1/4" E-Coat Driver's Side Hub and Rotor Disc Brake Assembly. It has an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern for 7,000 pound axles. Now, this trailer brake assembly will make it easy to upgrade from drum brakes to disc brakes for better performance. Disc brakes will give you more consistent stopping even at highway speeds, and it's dramatic . and it will give you dramatically shorter stopping distances, and they are easier and less expensive to maintain. This kit here will include one full brake assembly for the driver's side of the trailer. It includes one E-coated hub and rotor assembly, one E-coated ductile iron caliper, two of the semi-metallic brake pads, one E-coated caliper mounting bracket, with the installation nuts, and a little tube of thread sealant. It also includes the bearings, both inner and outer bearings, bearing races which are already pre-installed in the hub, the grease seal, it's a double lip grease seal, grease cap, and the lug nuts. Now, these parts are all an E-coat finish, which will provide corrosion resistance for fresh water and limited salt water use.
The rotor is a vented design rotor to help regulate temperature, prevent overheating. The hub that's included will replace your existing hub. The caliper they use is a self-adjusting caliper. It ensures maximum surface contact for nice, smooth equal braking.Brake pads they use are semi-metallic brake pads, help resist heat, provide excellent grip. The mounting bracket, this is made up of ductile iron, which provides strength and durability, and the mounting bracket is the part that'll make this assembly a left-hand side application.
It's because the location of the mounting holes will determine what side of the trailer it goes on.Now also for this assembly, it requires a hydraulic brake actuator and brake lines for these brakes to be activated. We do sell those items separately on our website. You do want to make sure the actuator and brake lines will have at least a psi rating of 1600 psi. These parts are made in the U.S.A. Again, it fits a 7,000 pound axle. The wheel size that'll work on this is 16", 16-1/2", and 17".
The bolt pattern, 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. Wheel bolt diameter is a 1/2" diameter. Rotor diameter, which is measured this side to this side, 12-1/4". Now, on the caliper mounting bracket, it will use a five bolt brake flange configuration. All the bearings are included. The inner bearing, which is the larger of the two, is part number 25580.
It has a 1.75 inner diameter. Outer bearing, part number 14125A, has a 1.25" inner diameter. Bearing races, they are pre-installed in the hub. Comes with the nice double lip grease seal, part number GS-2250DL. Inner diameter on the seal of 2.25", outer diameter of 3.376. The grease cap and eight of the 1/2" by 20 size lug nuts. But that should do it for the review on the Dexter 12-1/4" E-Coat Driver's Side Hub and Rotor Disc Brake Assembly, 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern for 7,000 pound axles.

The first time the gentleman stayed late and made sure the shipment was ready to go out the next morning. This time as well. When traveling, you can't pick the place of your repair needs, but these guys were great in getting me the parts.
