Note: Tie-down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the etrailer 10-foot-long cam buckle tie down straps with the S-hooks. They have a 440 pound working load limit and this is for a quantity of two straps. Now these are cinching tie down straps that'll let you secure kayaks, canoes or other items for your cargo carrier roof rack. They do use the zinc-plated cam buckles here. If we zoom in to show you up close, these'll hold your strap tight over your gear.
Basically what you'll do is take the plain end right here of your strap and then you'll run it up under and then through there. And you press this down, pull the strap, and then you can pull it as much as you need it. Once you get it to where it's tight, you release that and then just pull it to cinch it up. If you'll notice what's nice, they have the rubber pad right here that's attached and that's on, when you go to cinch this down, what's nice when you tighten it, that buckle is gonna be right over that rubber pad. So when you tighten it the buckle's gonna tighten up against the rubber pad.
Helps protect your cargo from getting any damage. Now on each end, they do use these vinyl-coated S-hooks that have the spring loaded keeper on 'em, helps keep the straps attached to your anchor points. And the whole black portion of the S-hook is vinyl coating, helps prevent your gear from being scratched. Now the webbing on this, it is a one-inch-wide durable polyester webbing. It is like a seatbelt material.
It is abrasion resistant. And if you notice, the whole straps are all bright yellow color. Makes it very easy to see in the day or the night. Now also on this end of the straps, you can see they have the hook and loop fastener. And what's what that is for is after you get done tightening down your cargo and then you'll have all, if you have some extra strap, what you can do is wind up that extra strap and then just put it down there.
Take your hook and loop fastener just like that and that'll hold it in place. Keep that strap from flapping in the wind. Few specs on this, the quantity is for two ratchet straps. Strap dimension again is one inch wide, 10 foot long. Maximum load or break strength on this is 1,320 pounds each. Safe working load limit is, which is a third of that, is 440 pounds each. One note I do wanna mention is that these tie down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, which means the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are be being used. So just to give you an example, if you're gonna use straps that have a working load limit of 500 pounds each and you're tying down a load weighing a thousand pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And it is always recommended that you use straps in pairs. Now this part here is for two straps. We do also sell these individually. If you need to add one, they come as a quantity one. It's part number E42JR. And those are listed on this product page as a related product. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer 10-foot-long cam buckle tie down straps with the S-hooks and the 440 pound working load limit.
