The instructions for anti-rattle hitch stabilizer said to mount it the opposite of what the video states. I will try it both ways and see which works best.

Great product and idea. It keeps a rack or anything else you put in the hitch level and rattle free. Even when I have one side of a rack loaded heavier than the other side, the rack stays level.

by:

This works very well to take any play out of the hitch/receiver connection. I like the rubberized coating to prevent the stabilizer from scratching paint off the hitch/receiver. I use this with my 4-bike bicycle rack.

by:

This small investment solved a big and aggravating problem. It eliminated all the drawbar/receiver motion and, therefore, took away all the rattle noise. Wise investment!

by:

I used this to stop movement in a spare tire carrier in my receiver. It helped and is a better quality then most. L

by:

Does it's job keeping a hitch mount cargo carrier from chucking around.

by:

A simple design that reduces noise and adds stability. To get proper alignment between my RV and my towed vehicle, I needed 2” of drop. After a few trips, I could feel the movements and hear the noise. Upon installing these anti rattle stabilizers, it was apparent that both issues were resolved.

by:

This works great. Before I bought this, every bump I hit, all I heard was the hitch rattling with and without the trailer attached. Now I can drive without losing my mind. No rattle at all. The only maintenance is to check the bolts occasionally. Hasn't come loose yet to date.

by:

The product is great, but I can't put the carrier on my car cause of weight with or without a load. That's on me.

by:

The anti-rattle hitch stabilizer works like a champ. One thing I'd recommend if you're using an extension piece for the hitch is to check periodically to make sure the anti-rattle didn't slip out of place and might need readjusting.

by:

The etrailer anti-rattle hitch stabilizer does exactly what it is designed to do. I hear no rattle from anything attached to my hitch.

Stan

8/23/2023

The etrailer anti-rattle hitch stabilizer has been keeping my hitch attachments noise free.

by:

This worked extremely well! I had to modify the install because of my hitch/bumper. Even with the nuts down (used some loctite) they didn't budge when pulling a square-drop trailer across back roads in Wyoming Wind River range. In fact, I lost the nut off of the ball hitch and not this stabilizer! Would definitely recommend.

by:

Works like it should. Easy to install

Eddie

5/9/2024

Works as advertised. I would purchase again

by:

Worked well while on a trip using a cargo basket, and did not loosen up

@Christopher That's awesome, we're glad to hear that!

by:

Use it with my Hollywood bike rack on back of 5th wheel. Provides significantly more stability with the bike rack. Rack does not bounce near as much with this device installed.

by:

Perfect , especially if you have the hitch type mud flaps. Holds tight and secure .

Dennis

8/19/2023

Still on the hitch and working great

by:

Solidly built. Easy install. Stabilizes the carrier on the back of my Travel Trailer. I like that it can be installed without removing the carrier from the receiver.

Bill D.

5/5/2021

I have transferred it to a new fifth wheel. It’s still working great. No rattles and it stabilizes the carrier with my generator and e- bike mounted on it thus reducing the bounce load on the hitch.

by:

This anti-rattle device works very good. Does exactly what it says it will do. Had to knock off a star because the vinyl coating has split from usage but overall I am very happy with my purchase. Quieted down the trailers just fine, eliminating the cluncking when going over bumps or starting / stopping.

Elperroferoz

5/27/2023

Still working as described. Much quieter when using it than without it. Still very happy with my purchase.

by:

I have always had good service from etrailer.com and can highly recommend their products.

These work very well!

by:

Using this on a kuat 4 place bike rack with 2 very heavy ebikes and two normal mtb bikes, the rack is at its limit but with this anti sway the rack has been working excellent. Would not try without using this anti sway as the bikes I’m loading are very heavy.

Dave S.

4/23/2023

Great anti sway device

by:

Sometimes Hitch's still move a little when you hit the gas or brake. Mine did and while driving, I would worry if all was OK back there. The Anti Rattle Hitch did as promised. No shakes or rattles, so no more worries

Sonny

5/6/2023

Havent had to do anything. Its like the commercial-set it and forget it.

by:

I have a cargo basket on the back of my suv. I liked it but in addition to the rattle it would sway left and right. I use this vehicle daily and this item was the single most important part of the set up. If you don’t get one, your missing out on stable, quiet operation with your hitch receiver. It’s great!

by:

Be sure this will work on your style of hitch. We have the OEM // factory installed (integrated) tow package on our 2020 Toyota Highlander and we have to install it upside down to make it work. Also, the yellow rubberized part only lasts for 1-2 uses before it is cracked // split and no longer functional.

by:

Got product today and mounted it in minutes. It definitely made my dominator hitch step more secure. No more wobble or play.
My only observation is that the instructions sent in the packaging show (& tell) you to slide the Ubolt down over the hitch with the plate on the bottom. The videos on etrailers site says plate on top. I assume it can go either way? I put the plate on the bottom for my situation because it seemed to fit better.
So far seems like a great, solid product.

by:

I am giving this product 3 stars only because the printed installation instructions that came with the stabilizer are 180 degrees different from what is show in the videos on the etrailer website. Whose instructions do I follow???? Is the flat plate meant to be on the bottom or the top of the receiver? Please correct this!

Great question! In reality, you can use it either way. Whatever works best for your application is the way to go!

  • Replacement Hitch Pin/Anti Rattle Lock Solution for Swagman XC Bike Rack
Looks like you have a Swagman XC bike rack part # S64650 which you are looking for either a replacement hitch pin bolt or a hitch pin lock. For a replacement you'd just need the # P5902 for a new bolt or if you wanted a lock setup you'd want the # S64029 and you'd be set.

Normally the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter # RM-077-8 is designed for use with a flat towing setup but I don't really see the harm in pairing this with your bike rack. It measures 10" long and has an 8" drop like what you're looking for. You're going to need a hitch pin like the Curt # C21500, but I also recommend tossing in the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 since you'll be adding another connection point to your setup.

The Curt Solid Steel 2" Hitch Bar # D31 can be welded to the 6" Combo Bar 1-1/4" Receiver # E-911 with some steel plate or tubing. I may have an option for you, but there is not a hitch extender that measures at least 28" that will work with the 2" trailer hitch receiver on your 2014 Ram 1500. With that said you could use the longest available adapter, the Curt Extender for 2" Receivers -18" Long # C45796, with an extra long ball mount, the Curt Class III Drawbar - 2" Rise - 4" Drop - 13" Long - 7,500 lbs # C45270. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your hitch pin on your Swagman Trailhead 4 # S63381. One of the troubleshooting methods that we recommend for the looseness issue is to wiggle the rack up and down as you install/tighten the hitch pin. This can help with tightening. Every hitch and drawbar will have some movement between them, it's unavoidable. Any manufactured product like a receiver hitch will have variances in its size.
