I received the package in a pretty rough exterior condition but everything was fine inside.

The previous comments about having to cut away the expanded metal flooring in order to install the carriage bolts wasn't true in my case. Apparently, this quality control issue has been addressed by the manufacturer.

Assembly went well and wasn't complicated. A different carriage bolt with a longer square shoulder should be used. The shoulder doesn't grip too well to the square cutout in the frame and even while pressing firmly on the head of the bolt, it wanted to turn as I was tightening the nut.

All in all, it seems to be a solid product and I look forward to using it.

Ive used this a few times in the past year and its very useful and strong.

by:

I wish the load capacity was a bit higher, but overall I am satisfied with the cargo carrier. It is perfect for lugging my two dog crates behind my vehicle instead of inside the vehicle. Thank you for offering a dimensionally larger cargo carrier than most retailers.

by:

Love it! I use it on my 2016 Nissan Frontier. Allows me to fit one more washer or dryer for my laundry business!

by:

I only gave an average rating because the carrier was not easy to assemble without slight modification. The bolt holes for assembly were blocked by the steel mesh. I cut the mesh that covered several of the holes with a rotary disc cutter.

I will share this information with the manufacturer as this is an unusual case.

by:

The carrier works great. I wanted it to transport a foldable 3 wheeled bike. It fits on the carrier just right. Putting together was not difficult for me. Have not had a chance to actually go anywhere with it, but I can tell it will be just fine.

by:

Product was delivered quickly and had detailed instructions on assembly. Thanks.

by:

Does what I expected.2010 FJ Cruiser. Assemble was very easy. The problem with past posts of getting the bolts to pass thru the wire mesh has been fixed as well as the reflective tape. Great job on delivery. I will use this cargo carrier for travel and when out surf fishing. The wagon I have will just fit on this carrier and make getting to the beach and back a cleaner experience.

by:

Works great! We use this as an add on for our work truck so we can carry large equipment because our bed holds all of our permanent equipment.

by:

Purchased this to carry an e-trike on the front of my truck. It was the only one I could find that would accommodate the 30" width of the trikes rear wheels.

by:

Well built, easy to assemble and convenient holes for tie downs.

by:

I’ve owned this cargo carrier for about a year now and I’m very happy with the purchase. It’s very sturdy and I appreciate that the frame has numerous points to hook up ratchet straps. I typically use it to transport plastic bins for camping and it was a huge help when moving. It’s also made it easy to rent outdoor power equipment from Home Depot.

by:

Seems well built & sturdy, will know more when we complete trip Tom Maryland with trike on it.

by:

Excellent product! Excellent service. Easy peasy! Thank you

by:

It was extremely difficult to find a hitch carrier wide enough for the e-trike I am buying. This one works beautifully. All the parts were there. The instructions are easy to follow. I have it almost all put together. And FYI, I'm a 71 year old lady doing this on my own and it was very easy!

by:

After some searching this was the answer to our need. I did some modifications to accommodate our 2 folding tadpole trikes and the total weight of the trikes and rack is still more than 50 lb's below the listed capacity. We have driven in 4 states with no problem.

by:

Product is exactly as expected, very good quality, easy to assemble and serves the purpose I bought it for.
I simply used a device to prevent rattling and it works great.
I can also still open the trunk on a Atlas with some cargo on it which makes things very convenient.
I would recommend w/o any hesitation.

by:

Superior quality easily holds our new Lectric Bike Three Wheel Trike. Fast shipment, well packaged and great service. Very easily assembled.

by:

I just finished putting it together. Went fine, looks good. Bolts are not 3/8, they are 9/16. Missing some washers.Very happy!

by:

Have had for a year. I haul a 30” Toro mower with trimmer, blower and gas on this beast on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Awesome.

by:

UPS just dropped off my new carrier from e-trailer! The dimensions are perfect for hauling my wife's e-trike and my two-wheel e-bike! Assembly took all of 15 minutes! Although it's pretty robust I can use it on my RV or my pickup. Quality unit! As soon as I mount it I'll be posting on Facebook! I forgot to mention the speed in which it was handled! Ordered on a Friday and it was here the following Tuesday! OUTSTANDIND!

by:

Etrailer had the best price, free shipping, and it arrived faster than they estimated!

by:

I purchased this product to transport my fish house. It works great! Customer service was excellent with speedy shipping. I highly recommend this product and etrailer.com

by:

Exactly what I was looking for even though it took a while to get it great service and communication with me about the order

by:

Arrived in good condition. Easy to assemble. Steel mesh was cut away from bolt holes appropriately so no cutting and painting was needed. Very grateful that mfr listened to older reviews and improved their product. Would buy again.

by:

Great carrier, gave my family more space inside the car on vacation's . We also use back and forth to the beach to hold wagon umbrella cooler, and chairs . Keeps sandy items out of the car . It has plenty of tie down locations for ratchet straps or bungee cords. Was very easy to put together.

  • Can a Push Lawnmower Be Transported on Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier # PS1040100
The Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # PS1040100, will fit on a 2-inch hitch receiver and has a weight capacity of 400 lbs. It has usable platform dimensions of 47-3/4 inches long x 31-3/4 inches wide x 2-3/4 inches deep. A standard push lawnmower should be within those guidelines. I would recommend to measure your lawnmower to make sure. As long as your vehicle has a 2-inch hitch receiver, and the lawnmower is within the dimensions mentioned above you should be able to use the # PS1040100...

To determine if the Pro Series Cargo Carrier, part # PS1040100, will fit your 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, you will need to take a measurement. You will need to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole, to the edge of the rear bumper. If this measurement is less than 12 inches, the Pro Series Cargo Carrier will fit. This hitch cargo carrier will fit 2 inch hitches like the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, part # 87432, which fits your Chrysler Pacifica. We do not have a folding adapter available...

I attached an install video for this carrier for you to check out as well. The Pro Series Cargo Carrier part # PS1040100 would be a great option for a cargo carrier. When you choose a cargo carrier for your 2004 CR-V, you will want one that has a shank long enough so that the basket clears the rear-mounted spare tire. When we installed a 2 inch receiver on that generation CR-V, we found that the distance from the hitch pin hole in the receiver to the rear-most portion of the back bumper was 9 inches. You will want to measure that distance on your vehicle to confirm how much clearance is needed. The following are a few carriers I checked and their clearance...

What I recommend for adding lights to your cargo carrier is light kit # 20174. To mount the lights you will also need 2 of bracket # BK70BB. You can use self-tapping screws to secure the brackets to the top, rear rail of the carrier. This set up is the most cost effective option. It would plug into a 4-way trailer wiring connector.

The Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier, item # PS1040100, should fit nicely in the 2 inch hitch on your 2010 Jeep Patriot. The shank on the carrier measures 12 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the raised side of the platform and raises 4 inches for clearance at the rear of the carrier, for going through dips and entering steep drives. Because using an adapter places the load further away from the hitch receiver, your hitch tongue weight capacity will be reduced by 50 percent when using the adapter. • Hitch Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I believe your best option is going to be the part # C18109. This carrier does not have a rise built into the shank of the carrier so your rear door should open over it without a problem. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the carrier platform is 11-1/4 inches, so there would be a tiny portion of the carrier that would be covered by the rear spare. Most likely it would only be about an inch.
