etrailer Cargo Bag

etrailer cargo bag

This extra-large, water-resistant cargo bag lets you transport up to 20 cu ft of gear on your hitch-mounted cargo carrier. It's made of PVC-coated nylon to keep your gear clean and dry. It allows you to carry luggage, skis, sports equipment, tents, sleeping bags, and anything else that will fit inside. The soft bottom of the bag conforms to your cargo carrier for a secure fit. You can also use this bag in your truck bed, in your trunk or rear cargo area, or on your roof-mounted cargo carrier.

Water-Resistant Nylon with Watertight Seams

Water-Resistant fabric

This cargo bag is constructed of heavy-duty, PVC-coated nylon, so it's hard to cut or tear. If it does acquire a hole or tear, the ripstop material is designed to prevent the hole or tear from expanding. The bag is also water resistant so your cargo stays dry in rain and snow. And for added weather protection, the seams are fused together to create a watertight seal.

Large, Zippered Opening

Zippered openingOpened etrailer bag

A large, double-zippered opening on top of the bag makes it easy to load and unload your cargo. The zippers wrap around 3 sides so you can fully open the top. There is a flap with hook-and-loop fasteners that provides extra moisture protection for your cargo and helps protect the zipper from rust and corrosion. You can add a small padlock (131D - sold separately) to the zippers to secure the bag shut.

Nylon Tie-Down Straps

Tie-down strapsTie-down straps

Six nylon tie-down straps secure the bag to your hitch-mounted carrier or roof basket. Each strap attaches to one of the 6 integrated, reinforced buckle attachments on the bag. Simply feed the short end of the strap into the buckle attachment on the bag and loop the long end around the rail of your carrier. Pull it tight and tie the excess out of the way.

Steel oval rings

If your cargo carrier has built-in tie-down points, you may be able to hook the included oval steel rings through them to secure the bag as well.

Foldable for Compact Storage

You can fold this bag up for compact storage when it isn't being used.

Order this bag for the back of my Jayco Motorhome. Delivery was quick! Bag is of good quality and easy to put on the rack. Needed it to get stuff out of the RV.

Working great, no leaks at all. We went through some heavy rain and contents are dry as a bone!

by:

I have not used yet (will this weekend) but have it in the basket, loaded, and ready to go. the bag is of heavy weight compared to others, has velcro on the top side lips to hold them down at highway speeds and the large zippers work smoothly. My last bag lasted over 10 years, this one should do the same. MUCH higher quality than the cheap ones offered by others. I did buy one and sent it back... way too light weight.

by:

More than enough space to put everything and keep out weather also love the straps that are built on to bag to tie down to carrier

I go to a hunting lease year round just to enjoy the outdoors. When it isn't dusty, it's raining. I have been using waterproof river bags to keep my gear clean and dry but they are not large enough and I need several.

The dimensions for this etrailer bag sounded like it would be OK. It was better than OK, it was perfect!

The pictures show it in the back of my GMC Sierra. It is a crew cab short bed (5 /12') with a tool box. The cargo bag spans the width of the truck bed and is large enough for everything I need. I actually had trouble finding enough large items to put in it for the pictures.

Now I can load the truck several days ahead and not worry about storing the stuff in my living room (my wife is ecstatic). All I have to add is my dog and ice chest and I'm ready to go. (Before you report me for animal abuse for stuffing her in the bag, my dog has the entire back seat of the truck to herself).

The material of this bag is very heavy duty which should help to avoid punctures and leaks. The zipper is solid and works well. Because of its size and thickness of the material, it may need to be coaxed around the corners but just opening the front alone gives adequate access to the interior for loading.

It comes with straps and rings to secure it to a hitch tray and instructions on their use. When empty, it collapses so it can be stored out of the way unlike the large plastic bins.

If anything ever happens to this bag, I'll be right back buying another.

After several months of use, I want to reiterate my 5 Star rating. This bag has kept my gear dry and free from dust over many trips. Dust is my main concern but it has endured some pretty long hard thunderstorms without a leak be sure the flaps are closed over the zipper. It is a pleasure to put it in the back of the truck and then toss stuff in it without concern that it will blow out or be open to prying eyes. It is very heavy duty and does get stiff during the cold. That can make zipping it up difficult. I put it in the house until Im ready to load the truck. It stays pliable for loading. The zipper is solid but resist the temptation to force it. Just hold the fabric in place and it zips nicely. Patience is key when it is cold.

by:

This bag was fantastic. Very durable, waterproof, the straps were so easy to put on, and it held a lot more stuff than we thought. We were nervous that everything we had wasn't going to fit, but we actually had room to spare.
We put everything we needed into totes, which made it more organized and easier to keep everything in one spot. Couldn't be happier with the bag. Can't wait to use it again!

by:

This product worked perfectly. We were able to pack 2 large suit cases, 3 smaller suit cases and a duffel bag in this cargo bag, and traveled 1700 miles round trip without any issues. we traveled through a couple of large rain storms and did not have one drop of water anywhere inside the bag.

Both products have worked perfectly for my needs. The cargo rack is a great addition to my Sequoia. It allows me to accomidate 6 people in the veichical and carry all of our luggage for a 7 day trip. The cargo bag is easy to access and both water and dust proof. On a trip to Texas we encountered a lot of rain and not a got inside . I couldnt be more pleased with both.

by:

Cargo bag works exactly as anticipated! I can fit my entire boat(deflated and disassembled) inside this bag and transport on the cargo deck that is part of my 5th Wheel trailer.

Almost 4 years later and it still works great! I average 10 trips per year.

Everything thing worked great! Even ran into some rain and Everything stayed dry. Very pleased.

by:

Excellent product. You pay for quality materials. Easy to store and clean. It keeps all your suitcases clean and dry. Very durable product. etrailer always offer excellent product. I do Recommend this product.

by:

This fit my needs perfectly, it seem to be watertight (but have only tested with a hose) its big and sturdy.
Plan on taking a 1400 mile trip and butting this cargo bag to good use.

This was a great purchase, It held all of our equipment and kept it dry during my trips. Its just a little wide for my custom carrier I built, but tied down and traveled just fine.I have a down hitch so I can still open my back door and the lights and license plate are not covered up.

by:

I got this cargo bag for a big camp over trip with our dogs. Usually we are all cramped in the car.I got so much gear loaded in there that the dogs road in style with plenty of room inside the car. Though I did not anticipate rain, it came down on us. The cargo bag kept our gear completely dry. It fit securely on the carrier with the straps. I only have a picture of the bag when it was half stuffed. When it was packed for the trip it came up to about half way covering the spare wheel. If you are on the fence about buying it, I'd do it again. It's thick and sturdy material.

by:

We have been so glad to have the cargo bag. It carries a lot of camping gears and other items. We just threw everything in it after install it to a hitch carrier for a 7000 miles road trip last year and a 5000 miles road trip this year. In general, it is waterproof. There was only very little water that got through zipper line after a long day driving during very heavy down pour rain.

by:

Received one day, traveled to Texas the next…from North Carolina. No rain to check for leakage, but, otherwise good. Used one wrap around ratchet strap.due to top heaviness of filled cargo bog.

by:

This has been such a great purchase for our family. A year and a half ago we moved from a mini van to an SUV. The hitch carrier and bag are the only way it works with all the kids and gear for trips. A must have for families who like to travel but need more space.

by:

I bought this cargo bag based on its dimensions. I was looking for one that would utilize the full size of my carrier, and this one does that. The zippers are quality, and the flaps covering them seal well. The straps are convenient and hold well. It is made of heavy vinyl.
The pictures shows it overstuffed. I put it on the carrier and inflated it with an air hose to see how big it is. I had plenty of time to take a picture before it started sagging from deflating. I think that says a lot for how well the zippers seal.

by:

I owned a similar product for my hitch haul but it was made out of canvas and did not repel water very well. Just used this bag on our latest family camping trip. Managed to fit all of our gear inside of it and leave plenty of room for my dog in the back of the SUV.

The bag loads nice and rides well on the back of the hitch haul. There was no need for any additional tiedowns as a straps provided were sufficient to hold the bag during travel. This is an outstanding product don't think of buying anything else!

by:

Great bag! Perfectly fits my cargo tray. It’s sturdy and really does keep the contents dry. I know this because during my first camping trip with this bag, I was stuck in my tent for two days during a monsoon. Everything was soaked, but this bag stayed dry inside. If I have one complaint (and it’s a small one) it’s the tabs on the zipper pulls. They are quite thin and bend easily. I’d like to see a more heavy duty tabs on the zippers.

by:

Excellent bag, especially fur the price. Has kept our camping gear and luggage dry on multiple trips. We have used it both on a rear hitch cargo carrier and on our trailer. Would definitely recommend it.

by:

Great product. I'm very glad I got this for our 12-day 3,150 mile vacation trip! We packed it full with everything but the kitchen sink, and had room to spare! Fit nicely on the luggage hitch rack and went well on our 2013 Durango.

I especially enjoyed that we could (with some precaution not to overstuff the bag) still open the back lift gate with the bag packed and in place. That was very nice.

by:

All products received as promised. Right on schedule. The cargo bag is awesome. Very heavy duty and big!!

My wife and I both have trouble walking and we travel in a Class B+ RV.. not much storage room for 2 walkers so I thought the cargo carrier and the cargo bag would provide us the ability to bring them along. There is more than enough room...
Made up an interior frame with 3/4 inch PVC so the bag wouldn't look like a crunched up trash bag .... Also shows the etrailer name. Good advertising. Lol

I bought the etrailer 24" x 60" Cargo Carrier Scratch and Dent version and it worked great. I couldn't even tell that there were any scratches or dents. Looked brand new to me. I must admit that I only used the carrier one time, but that one time was a 10 HR drive to take my daughter to college. No issues whatsoever except minor scraping from going down my driveway where the drive apron met the street. No big deal. We have a 2019 CRV which is not that high off the ground and so others may not have that issue. I was a little concerned about how far off the back the carrier extended, so I added a couple reflectors that I bought at [home store] and just used some twist ties to hold them on. Worked fine and there were no issues with visibility from others. One of the selling points on this carrier was the tilt down option. I think I only used that function once, but it was nice to have when I did use it. I also bought the etrailer brand Cargo Bag to go with. Glad I did, because we drove through pretty heavy rain for about 2 hours of our drive. Most of the stuff was dry when we got there. There was some minor seepage but that was because I was not careful enough to make sure the perimeter flaps were securely velcro'd down and they must have flipped up on the highway with the higher wind speeds that allowed some rain to come in. But it was very minor and could have been prevented. All in all, both products worked great and I'd recommend them to others.

After a year and 2 more 10 hr road trips to my daughters college to either pick up and take home or take her back with all her stuff the etrailer Cargo bag 24x60 worked fine. It keeps stuff dry and secure. No issues with highway winds or rain. I would say that it is a bit of an effort to zip and unzip and then when its ready to pack up and put away, folding it up neatly takes some time but I feel that any of the bags would have these same issues. I think the tie down straps could be updated to be a little more user friendly especially when it comes to bundling up the extra strap length after cinching down so it doesnt flap in the wind. Overall Im happy with the purchase and I think it does the job fine and I would recommend to others.

by:

This is a great product. I've used it in heavy rain at interstate highway speeds, and the contents stayed dry. The integrated straps for tying it down are very effective as well.

by:

I would not buy from another vendor as etrailer goes out of their way to make sure you know what you are getting and stand behind the product they sell.

by:

Loaded ready to go!!! Worked great! Had plenty of room for folding chairs, picnic table cover and more. Wet through a terrible rain storm but everything stayed dry.
Would highly recommend this cargo bag.
p.s. Also worked great in back of pickup on another weekdend trip.

by:

Super high quality, and I love that I can just stuff it and strap it down, so I put all my wonky-sized camp items in it (camp chairs, kayak seats, etc.). Love it.

  • Recommended Hitch And Cargo Carrier For A 2024 Mazda CX-50
We can definitely help set you up. The best trailer hitch for your 2024 Mazda CX-50 as far as tongue weight is going to be the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C38BR. This hitch has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity, which is the highest available for your vehicle. So you will have plenty of capacity for a hitch mounted cargo carrier.
