Is A Receiver Pin Lock Okay to Use Instead of Threaded Pin for Bike Rack

Question:

I purchased this locking hitch pin to secure my bike/cargo rack. The pin that is included with my rack is threaded, this one is not and can slide left and right a bit when installed. Does this mean that I should not use this pin with my rack? Or maybe if I use this locking pin, should I buy a mount stabilizer? Thank you

As long as the Bulldog Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # BD580405 fits with the bike rack then you should be okay to use it with an anti-rattle like the etrailer # e99007 to help limit the movement of your bike rack.

With that being said, if we carry the manufacturer of the bike rack you have, just let me know and I can see if we have a threaded pin that also includes a lock just so that you can get much more of a clean install and you are using products that you know are designed for the bike rack. Using other products to secure the rack, like the MaxxTow lock and the etrailer anti-rattle, could possibly void the warranty as some bike rack manufacturers can get pretty picky about that stuff.
