Trailer Tire Recommendation for a Motorcycle Trailer with 5.30-12
Question:
I have a small I pull behind my motorcycle empty weight is under 200 pounds and loaded between 400-500 pounds trailer and cargo. Its time to replaces the tires and I would change over to radials, the current size is 5.30-12. My question is first is this a wise thing to do with a light load if so, secondly what size would I change to, and thirdly what are the benefits

After looking at the picture you submitted of your trailer I would recommend you stick with the 5.30-12 trailer size since going to a larger tire would most likely interfere with your fender clearances.
For a tire I would recommend the # AM10068. It has the highest capacity and when inflated to it's max psi should last you a very long time. There are no radial tires offered in this tire size.
If a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than the maximum, the amount of weight that the tire can carry will be reduced. If a heavier load is put on the trailer tire than what is recommended for that air pressure, the sidewall of the tire could heat up and cause the tire to fail.
I also attached an FAQ article on trailer tires for you to check out as well.
