Best Way to Wire 7-Way 12-Volt Circuit and Power Wire for Powered Taillight Converter
Question:
I am putting part 118554 in my 2012 Jeep Liberty. I also installed for a 7-pole the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller #ETBC7. My question is can I connect the power for the 4-pole to the rear end of the power wire of the 7-pole kit to avoid running both wires to the battery.

Helpful Expert Reply:
You can use a single wire to make that run to the vehicle battery. Run the 12-volt circuit from the 7-way, via the 40 amp breaker included in the kit. At the rear of the vehicle, you can tap the power wire from the converter into that 12-volt accessory wire, but be sure to use the inline fuse holder included with the converter. I've linked you to an article and some install videos that you might find helpful.
